  • Patent number: 4965941
Abstract: A combination marker and tape measure (10) having a housing (12), a flexible tape (18), and a pair of markers (104) which may be used to mark a surface on each side of the flexible tape (18). A front window cover (14) and bottom cover (16) enclose a compartment on a front surface (96) of the housing (12) to prevent exposure of the markers (104) to outside air. A plunger knob (42) is depressed into a recess (40) formed on a declining front face (38) of the housing (12) to move the markers (104) between a retracted configuration to an extended configuration. A locking mechanism (178) formed on a plunger (170) permits selective locking of the tape (18) to prevent coiling and uncoiling of the tape (18). A guide foot (154) removably mounted on an end tab (46) enables marking of a line (166) parallel to an edge (162) of a surface ( 164).

  • Patent number: 4962729
Abstract: A shelter for pet animals is formed of a molded unitary polyethylene plastic shell having a concave interior surface defining a cavity for sheltering a pet animal. The structure of the shell is formed of a solidified foam core encased within a rigid skin. The pet animal shelter is fabricated by heating a charge of polyethylene plastic under pressure and releasing and dispersing a blowing agent, such as nitrogen gas, into the polyethylene charge. The charge is passed into a mold shaped in the form of a shelter for pet animals. Pressure is reduced on the polyethylene charge in the mold, thereby, allowing the blowing agent to expand the interior of the plastic charge to form a foam core encapsulated within a polyethylene skin. The pet animal shelter insulates the cavity enclosed therewithin from both heat and cold.

  • Patent number: 4941466
Abstract: A curved bore hole drilling apparatus and method utilizing two power driven drill shafts equipped with flexible shaft sections on the distal ends thereof with each flexible shaft section having a cutting tip. A semicircular channel shaped drill guide loosely engages each flexible shaft end section and is caused to rotate through an approximate 90.degree. angle as the cutting tips are advanced. The drill guides are pivotally mounted for rotation in substantially the same plane end, when rotated through an approximate 90.degree. angle so as to meet, the cutting tips of the associated rotating flexible drill bits form a curved semicircular bore hole which may extend through 180.degree.. The flexible shaft sections and guides are then backed out of the bore and the bore may be used for attachment of a tie such as a wire or a suture which is passed through the bore.

  • Patent number: 4934711
Abstract: The present invention is a word game having a plurality of letter tiles and category cards. The game may also include a letter bag, a plurality of letter racks, and/or a playing board. By taking turns, individual letter tiles are drawn at random by players. If a drawing player chooses to use that drawn letter tile in the composition of a word relating to a randomly selected category identified on a current category card, that player may place that letter tile on that player's letter rack. If the player discards the letter tile, the letter tile is placed face-upward within a designated playing area, such as upon the game board. During each player's turn, such player may exchange individual letter tiles between his or her letter rack and the game board in an effort to spell a word belonging to the designated category. When a person correctly composes a complete word which belongs to the chosen category, the round is ended and points are allocated.
