  • Patent number: 7010970
Abstract: A high-performance, fast-response, multi-sensor pressure probe for velocity and pressure measurement applications in unsteady and turbulent flowfields. The invention includes both 5 and 7-sensor probes, hemispherical-tip probes and conical-tip probes of various diameters. The present invention eliminates the need for long pressure tubing in such probes by placing the sensors adjacent the flow apertures which leads to a dramatic response in probe measurement frequency response which extends the use of the invention to unsteady and turbulent flows.

  • Patent number: 6989646
Abstract: A system for allowing a wide selection of components to affect a desired result in the positioning business. Up to nine axes of coordinated motion are offered each of which may use a servomotor, a single or double rod air cylinder. The control for the system is a series of digital commands that cause the cylinder to accelerate, decelerate, maintain a given velocity, stop or pause and repeat a series of commands. It uses a low power servo system which, when activated, opens an air valve to an air cylinder which then moves until the valve actuator is turned off by the cylinder thus causing the air cylinder to follow the lower power servo system.

  • Patent number: 6970075
Abstract: The instant invention utilizes a programmable circuit which has a 186EM Micro controller therein to operate a circuit which integrates peripherals such as a memory controller, a programmable input and output, a timer and serial controller to increase system functionality and lower cost. The entire CPU circuit is mounted in a vehicle near the steering wheel where the key fob of the particular driver can be inserted for driver identification. There is an electronic box mounted forward of the firewall that contains the module specific for the brand of vehicle. The CPU module is wired to the under the hood box and a connection to that wiring in the back of the dash mounting holder. The holder guides the CPU module into the connector as the CPU module is inserted into the holder. The programmable unit is contained in a module which controls the speed of the vehicle and the memory function of the module itself.

  • Patent number: 6920792
Abstract: A guided wave electromagnetic acoustic transducer for detecting defects in moving metallic products such as rods, tubes and the like and which has coils energized by pulse of a few cycles of a high frequency alternating voltage which produces an alternating field in the product, the coils being alternately wound and connected in series and measuring dynamic acoustic stress that is a function of the radial distance from the center of the product being tested and produces a reading that is different than that showing a surface defect in the product.

  • Patent number: 6539769
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for straightening bridges that have had their lower girders bent by trucks passing underneath having loads higher than the clearance afforded by the bridge. The invention contemplates using a threaded rod with two clamping members to engage both the bent beam and a rigid part of the bridge to as to gradually bend the beam back into alignment by rotating a nut portion on the rod so as to turn the rod and allow one clamping member to move slowly along the rod. The clamping members have a portion designed to engage the flange area and thereby allow firm engagement of the beam by the straightening device.

  • Patent number: 6396930
Abstract: The technology of active noise reduction (ANR) is incorporated into audiometry testing in a variety of formats. Analog feedback, digital feedback, adaptive feedforward, and adaptive feedback noise control schemes are presented for use in audiometry to reduce the ambient noise heard by the test subject, allowing subject testing in higher ambient noise fields. Audiometer test signals are appropriately compensated so the test results are accurate and comply with existing calibration standards for audiometers. Existing audiometry headphone technologies are modified so that ANR can be accomplished while satisfying existing standards for audiometric testing. Embodiments are also defined for alternate headphone arrangements that may not conform to current (1997) audiometric testing standards but provide sufficient performance advantages to warrant new standards for audiometry testing in the future.
