Abstract: An inert tactical weapons system and method of use thereof, said system being a non-lethal application system designed to deal with terrorists and hostage situations. It consists of pumping an inert gas into a structure in which hostages are being held, the inert gas displacing the oxygen in the air within the structure and rendering all those within unconscious. Prompt venting after the initial incapacitation renders all those affected conscience within a few minutes and does no permanent harm.
Abstract: A wind driven power system employing multiple arms adapted to rotate about a central structure, each arm having a series of panels pivotally connected thereto and adapted to open and close as the system rotates to perpetuate the rotational movement and to produce energy.
Abstract: A recliner exerciser for simulating walking in which the user can adjust the degree on reclining as well as the amount of simulated walking and exercise his or her legs are subjected. A motorized gear box operates two moveable foot rests in varying degrees of incline to provide minor to aggressive walking simulation for the user.
Abstract: A boron ion plasma, generated by use of a cathodic arc, is manipulated and delivered to a large flat product such as a silicon wafer with boron ion energies suitable for incorporation of boron atoms into solid state devices as one of the key steps in manufacturing solid state electronics and with uniformity of boron dose over the area suitable for the scale of manufacturing desired.
Abstract: A non-toxic enzymatic detergent for use in cleaning surgical instruments and the like which have a large build-up of bio-residue thereon and which need specialty cleaning in order to avoid both hardened bio-residue and certain fluid traces from the instruments for both operating accuracy as well as sterilization requirements.
Abstract: An improved electronic programmable speed limiter for drivers of vehicles which can be preprogrammed and controlled from a remote location via a radio link to update the driver performance and adjust the controls on the speed limiter.
Abstract: A post operative patient assist device comprising two sections, one designed to attach the device to a bed frame or the like, and the second section having a series of gripping members flexibly connected one to the other in series so as to provide a chain of grips for the patient to successively engage with his or her hands to as to allow him or her to raise themselves from a supine position to a sitting position or vice versa. The gripping members are made of a thermoplastic elastomer compound.
Abstract: A high-performance, fast-response, multi-sensor pressure probe for velocity and pressure measurement applications in unsteady and turbulent flowfields. The invention includes both 5 and 7-sensor probes, hemispherical-tip probes and conical-tip probes of various diameters. The present invention eliminates the need for long pressure tubing in such probes by placing the sensors adjacent the flow apertures which leads to a dramatic response in probe measurement frequency response which extends the use of the invention to unsteady and turbulent flows.
Abstract: A system for allowing a wide selection of components to affect a desired result in the positioning business. Up to nine axes of coordinated motion are offered each of which may use a servomotor, a single or double rod air cylinder. The control for the system is a series of digital commands that cause the cylinder to accelerate, decelerate, maintain a given velocity, stop or pause and repeat a series of commands. It uses a low power servo system which, when activated, opens an air valve to an air cylinder which then moves until the valve actuator is turned off by the cylinder thus causing the air cylinder to follow the lower power servo system.

Abstract: The instant invention utilizes a programmable circuit which has a 186EM Micro controller therein to operate a circuit which integrates peripherals such as a memory controller, a programmable input and output, a timer and serial controller to increase system functionality and lower cost. The entire CPU circuit is mounted in a vehicle near the steering wheel where the key fob of the particular driver can be inserted for driver identification. There is an electronic box mounted forward of the firewall that contains the module specific for the brand of vehicle. The CPU module is wired to the under the hood box and a connection to that wiring in the back of the dash mounting holder. The holder guides the CPU module into the connector as the CPU module is inserted into the holder. The programmable unit is contained in a module which controls the speed of the vehicle and the memory function of the module itself.

Abstract: A guided wave electromagnetic acoustic transducer for detecting defects in moving metallic products such as rods, tubes and the like and which has coils energized by pulse of a few cycles of a high frequency alternating voltage which produces an alternating field in the product, the coils being alternately wound and connected in series and measuring dynamic acoustic stress that is a function of the radial distance from the center of the product being tested and produces a reading that is different than that showing a surface defect in the product.

Abstract: The present invention re lates to a liquid synfuel additive composition which is used as an additive to coal fines to enhance the complete combustion of the coal after turning it into a synthetic fuel. The composition is a chemical change agent in that it converts the coal/composition mix into a different material which, when burned, results in lower noxious emissions. The composition includes a wax, a base for ph adjustment and water.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for simultaneously inspecting and grinding roll mills which utilizes a transducer assembly which produces a creeping wave propagation in conjunction with a couplant fluid provider and data acquisition circuit which allows the operator to see the crack and imperfections in on the surface of the mill rolls as they are rotated and to grind them off.
Abstract: An acqueous synfuel composition to be used as an additive for coal and like combustible materials to cause chemical bonding with the coal or materials to transform it into a substance legally defined by United States Air Quality Regulations as a synfuel. The composition contains polyvinyl alcohol, a hydrocarbon wax, and water which interact with the coal or material.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for straightening bridges that have had their lower girders bent by trucks passing underneath having loads higher than the clearance afforded by the bridge. The invention contemplates using a threaded rod with two clamping members to engage both the bent beam and a rigid part of the bridge to as to gradually bend the beam back into alignment by rotating a nut portion on the rod so as to turn the rod and allow one clamping member to move slowly along the rod. The clamping members have a portion designed to engage the flange area and thereby allow firm engagement of the beam by the straightening device.
Abstract: The technology of active noise reduction (ANR) is incorporated into audiometry testing in a variety of formats. Analog feedback, digital feedback, adaptive feedforward, and adaptive feedback noise control schemes are presented for use in audiometry to reduce the ambient noise heard by the test subject, allowing subject testing in higher ambient noise fields. Audiometer test signals are appropriately compensated so the test results are accurate and comply with existing calibration standards for audiometers. Existing audiometry headphone technologies are modified so that ANR can be accomplished while satisfying existing standards for audiometric testing. Embodiments are also defined for alternate headphone arrangements that may not conform to current (1997) audiometric testing standards but provide sufficient performance advantages to warrant new standards for audiometry testing in the future.
