Abstract: A device for maintaining food at a temperature within a selected range is disclosed, the device having a ceramic heating element with an electric element and a thermocouple contained therein. The device is maintained between approximately 200° F. and 650° F. and emits for infrared radiation within the range of approximately 7.91 to 4.7 microns.
Abstract: Structures for V-bank electrostatic air filters are described. The V-bank air filters are assembled from two side panels, perforated top and bottom plates, a narrow end wall and an open wide end for the intake of air to be filtered. A pair of enclosure plates are pivotally mounted to the side panels in a parallel relationship to the respective top and bottom plates to form a pair of rectangular enclosures for respectively supporting electrostatic filter pads. The enclosure plates pivot open for removal and replacement of the filter pads. The side panels, top and bottom plates and rear wall are made from sheet metal blanks using cutting, bending and stamping processes. The enclosure plates are made from sheet metal blanks or welded wire structures. The advantage is that the structures are manufactured using simple automated processes and are quickly assembled without sub-assembly, thus time and labour are saved and costs are reduced.

Abstract: An apparatus and mechanism for protecting a gas burner of a barbecue grill regardless of the size or shape of the barbecue grill's cooking chamber. In a preferred embodiment, a shield incorporates a base member and a sliding member, with the sliding member being adapted to engage the base member for adjusting the length of the shield. Preferably, the base member and sliding member each have two side panels, with a centerline fold disposed between the side panels. A method for protecting a gas burner of a barbecue grill regardless of the size or shape of the barbecue grill's cooking chamber is also taught.
Abstract: A childproof cover for use with a compressed gas cylinder having a shut-off valve inhibits access to the valve. The childproof cover is especially intended for use with propane cylinders for barbecues. The cover includes a housing that surrounds the valve and an open top end for access to the valve. One embodiment of the cover includes a threaded cap that closes the open top end. The cap is adapted to be removed only when a certain force is applied to the cap. Another embodiment of the cover includes a hinged cap with a clip member for securing the cap to the housing. The cover efficiently safeguards the valve from manipulation by children and can be fabricated from molded thermoplastic or metal parts at low cost.
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the present invention incorporates an outer shell defining an interior and includes at least one opening for providing access to the interior. Preferably, a cap is provided for engaging the opening so that the cap and the outer shell can encase the interior. Within the interior, at least one storage chamber is formed which is adapted to receive at least one beverage container. Preferably, an insulating material is disposed within the interior between the storage chamber and the outer shell, and a re-freezable material is disposed within the interior between the storage chamber and the insulating material.
