  • Patent number: 6415803
Abstract: An apparatus and method for cleaning and rinsing of disk-shaped objects, such as silicon wafers, high precision lenses and the like. The cleaning and rinsing may take place in a single chamber, that is sequentially filled with cleaning solution, rinsing solution, and the like. In an important aspect of the invention, chemical cleaning solutions are dumped to containers and recycled for the use. Moreover, a cleaning solution composition may be monitored, and the concentration of solution can be adjusted automatically, or make-up chemicals may be added, as necessary. The apparatus has a relatively small footprint and maybe surrounded with an enclosure that may be kept at lower than atmosphere pressure to prevent escape of potentially hazardous contaminants into the environment. In preferred embodiments of the invention, the handling of wafers to be cleaned is carried out robotically, most preferably using a robot with at least two end-effectors, each adapted for a specific function.

  • Patent number: 6417061
Abstract: An improved semiconductor device and method which includes a zener diode and RC network combination that share common semiconductor mask steps during the fabrication process. A common N+ layer serves to provide both the separate N+ cathode regions of the zener diode and the separate bottom electrode N+ region of the capacitor. A common metal layer serves to provide separate electrical contacts to the N+ cathode regions of the zener diode and also provides a separate top metal electrode for the capacitor. The capacitor dielectric is comprised of silicon nitride. A silicon dioxide/silicon nitride insulation layer is formed between the top metal electrode of the capacitor and a resistive layer typically made from tantalum nitride.

  • Patent number: 6417576
Abstract: Apparatus for attaching multiple metal components to integrated circuit modules reduces manufacturing time for module assemblies having metal shields and/or heat sinks that must be applied to multiple modules within a manufacturing assembly. The metal components are manufactured in an array and the array assembly is attached to the integrated circuit substrate. The metal component array is then divided along with the modules after attachment. The modules are sawed apart before or after attachment. A reduction in manufacturing time is achieved through multiple placement of the metal components rather than individual placement.

  • Patent number: 6336692
Abstract: A cabinet for mounting to a wall or ceiling with downward extendable and retractable shelving assembly is provided. The cabinet includes a housing having an open bottom. Disposed within the housing is a shelving assembly having a plurality of shelves. A novel combination of a tension gas spring and telescoping drawer glides are used for mounting the shelving assembly to the housing. When items are needed from the cabinet, the shelving is pulled down until all the shelves are exposed. When access is no longer needed, a light tap to the bottom of the shelving assembly causes the tension gas spring to smoothly retract the shelving assembly back into the housing.
