  • Patent number: 5744099
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for transferring biological fluids such as blood and serum from closed containers to multiple receiving containers. The disclosed methods and apparatus perform the transfer of an accurate and precise amount of biological liquid without dilution of the biological liquid, and without splattering of the biological liquid on the walls of the receiving container. Furthermore, the method discloses how to obtain equal concentrations of white blood cells in multiple receiving containers characteristic of their concentration in the sealed container.

  • Patent number: 5573123
Abstract: A holder for objects, such as wine bottles, having a support system that enables the objects' enclosures to be any desired shape or form. A preferred embodiment includes a bottle support that is cantilevered in two directions. The first direction is parallel to the longitudinal length of the bottle and the second direction is orthogonal thereto. A support foot that is in general orthogonal to the supported bottle and a support arm connecting the support foot to the support body provides the ability to cantilever the supported object in two directions.

  • Patent number: 5406708
Abstract: A rotatable retaining structure for flexible cutters for cutting vegetation and the like, having a hub, a plurality of arms extending radially outward from the hub and a guard disk disposed outwardly on the arms at a predetermined radial distance from the hub. The arms include slanted or cambered edges to create upward air currents to lift and pull the vegetation into the rotating flexible cutters. The guard disk may be weighted so as to simulate a flywheel for the motor shaft and has an additional air foil for disposing vegetation cuttings outwardly.
