Abstract: An alignment apparatus for use on a well derrick or drilling rig for engagement with a pipe section either being connected to or disengaged from the upper end of pipe string within a well bore hole. The apparatus includes a supporting frame for connection to the framework of the derrick and carrying a head assembly for engaging an upper pipe section in a manner to align the pipe section with a pipe section within the bore hole and yet allowing rotation of the upper pipe section. The head assembly includes a fixed pipe engaging member and movable arms pivotable to a closed position, the pipe engaging member and the arms all having pipe engaging surfaces.
Abstract: A scrambled analog signalling system having a source of analog signals to be sent to a receiving device is comprised of a multiple stage charge coupled device (66) having analog signal input terminals connected to receive analog signal samples from said source of analog signals. The multiple stage charge coupled device having N stages, corresponding stage taps, and an input clock signal. A shuffling circuit (68) having a first input connected to the N stage taps for receiving the analog signal samples and second input for receiving a random seed (67) signal to cause a random reordering of incoming analog signal samples, a source of random seed signals connected to the second input, and an output device (72) connected to receive a stream of the analog signal samples which have been shuffled according to a mapping code carried by the random seed signal.
Abstract: A gas barbecue grill has a housing, a grate supported by the housing for supporting food for cooking, and a gas burner for supplying heat. The gas burner includes at least one fluidic burner element centrally located and projecting a heating flame aligned substantially along the centerline and downward. A heat distribution member having an axis aligned with the centerline has at least a pair of downwardly diverging planar elements with the burner projecting a flame along the centerline which heats the center of the distribution member. The heat distribution member has first and second groups of apertures, the first group of apertures being proximate one end of the heat distribution member and spaced from the center of each of said planar elements. A second group of apertures formed proximate the end of heat distribution member opposite the burner end and spaced from the center of the distribution member and in each of the planar elements.
