  • Patent number: 5244171
Abstract: An interslip sequence slip control system for multiple wheel axle units for railway vehicles including an electronic logic network for determining whether all the axles of the vehicle are slipping at the same time. A first circuit for selecting the maximum axle speed on the vehicle and a second circuit for selecting the minimum axle rate on the vehicle. A converter circuit for increasing the bit size of the maximum axle speed signal. A plurality of calculating circuits for producing a speed reference signal. An interslip sequence circuit for supplying the maximum axle speed signal to a reconversion circuit when at least one axle is not undergoing slippage and for supplying the speed reference signal to the reconversion circuit when all the axles on the vehicle are slipping.

  • Patent number: 5152410
Abstract: An automatic car coupler control system for a railway train consisting of at least one powered car and at least two nonpowered cars. An electrical switch and a timer carried by the nonpowered car following the powered car is connected to a voltage source located on the powered car. An electrical switch and a timer carried by a subsequent nonpowered car is connected through the electrical switch of the nonpowered car following the powered car. The timers of each of the nonpowered cars is connected to a plurality of electromagnetic valves which pneumatically actuate the head pistons of the couplers when the nonpowered cars meet and which initially pneumatically actuate the head pistons and the head unlocks of the coupler and which subsequently pneumatically activate a latch cylinder on the coupler on the nonpowered car following the powered car when the nonpower cars are uncoupled by actuating the electrical switch on the nonpowered car following the powered car.

  • Patent number: 4610205
Abstract: A bullet for muzzle loading black powder rifles having an elongated cylindrical metal body. The metal body includes a front paraboloidal segment and a recessed base. A rear expansion band for initially guiding the bullet into the rifled bore and for tightly sealing the explosive gases upon firing of the rifle. A front rifling band which is cut by the lands of the rifling to cause rotation about the longitudinal axis of the bullet. An intermediate knife-like cleaning band which removes residue from the rifled bore as the bullet is propelled outwardly by the explosive gases.
