Abstract: The present mechanism provides a quick install lockset mechanism having a semi-permanent mechanical connection between an interior lock assembly and an exterior lock assembly. The exterior lock assembly includes a pair of threaded fasteners extending through a preformed hole in a door, and the interior lock assembly includes a rose liner configured to rotatably engage the fasteners to connect the interior and exterior lock assemblies. The interior lock assembly rose liner includes a pair of raised contoured portions having openings for receiving the fasteners and ramps for guiding the fasteners to the openings. In addition, the interior lock assembly includes a knob insert and a turnpiece guide. The knob insert is disposed in the knob and the turnpiece guide is removably disposed in the knob insert. A turnpiece is disposed in the turnpiece guide and is thereby aligned with an operating member extending from a lock cylinder in the exterior lock assembly.

Abstract: A spring detent mechanism for a reversible lever includes a cantilevered lever catch rigidly attached to the sleeve and a C-shaped clip disposed in a groove in the sleeve. The lever catch includes a button for engaging the lever and the C-shaped clip is disposed adjacent the button to prevent longitudinal movement of the lever unless the button is depressed.

Abstract: A one-piece quick connector includes a tubular member and a collar. A pair of diametrically opposed actuating arms depend from the collar and lie in a first plane. A pair of diametrically opposed locking arms depend from the collar and lie in a second plane that is orthogonal to the first plane. The locking arms are disposed to engage a lip on the end of a conduit and are movable between a locking position and an unlocking position in response to movement of the actuating arms.

Abstract: A tool holder for a rotary hammer or chisel hammer, comprising at least one locking element, a supporting ring axially movable between a position supporting the locking element in the locked position and a second position defining a first release position of the locking element and wherein the locking element comprising a shaped element which, on its radially outer side, has a single projection lying between a first recess formed at a front edge of the locking element and a second recess formed at a rear edge of the locking element and the supporting ring has on a radially inner side a single projection lying between a first recess formed at a front edge of the supporting ring and a second recess formed at a rear edge of the supporting ring.

Abstract: A lock cylinder retainer comprises an annular portion and a rectangular portion extending from the annular portion. The annular portion is configured to engage a lock cylinder core and the rectangular portion is configured to engage a pin housing associated with the cylinder core. The annular portion includes a front edge and a flange extending radially inwardly from the front edge and the rectangular portion includes a front surface, a pair of parallel side surfaces and a top surface. The front, top and side surfaces cooperate to partially enclose the pin housing.

Abstract: A lighted deadbolt according to the present invention includes a lock cylinder and a cylinder guard, a light assembly including a light source, a wiring harness including a plurality of wires electrically connected to the light source, and an annular adapter. The adapter includes a housing for receiving the light source and an annular channel for guiding the plurality of wires from the light source. The annular adapter includes a first surface, a wall extending orthogonally from the first surface, and a first plurality of tabs extending from the first surface generally parallel to the wall. The plurality of wires are operatively disposed between the first plurality of tabs and the wall. The adapter further includes a pair of fingers extending from the surface for receiving a sound producing device and a second plurality of tabs extending from the wall. The plurality of wires electrically couple the light source to the sound producing device.

Abstract: A novel drill bit adapter includes a body portion, a cap portion, a spring-biased catch and a push button actuator. The cap portion includes a transverse aperture and cooperates with the body to define a longitudinal aperture and a catch-receiving cavity. The push button is disposed in the transverse aperture and engages the catch to move the catch in the cavity relative to the longitudinal aperture in opposition to a biasing force supplied by the spring. The spring is a wire spring that extends longitudinally from the body portion into the cap portion to engage the catch.
