Abstract: A locking assembly security apparatus engages with a tablet computer or similar device, which is securely locked to it via a plunger lock. A corner pocket engages one corner of the tablet computer, while another proximal lockable corner pocket engages the diagonally opposite corner of the tablet computer. The security apparatus includes a diagonally extending chassis bar between the opposite set of corner pockets. The base of a proximal pocket extends from the diagonally extending chassis bar to the flanges at the proximal end on the other side of the integral hinge pin housing of the proximal pocket, which flips up to permit a corner of the tablet computer to be inserted or disengaged.
Abstract: An acoustic device and a method for altering sound. The acoustic device includes an architectural structure having a solid body. The architectural structure is adapted to be mounted on a wall of a room. The solid body has a channel therethrough to define a cavity therein. The channel is configured to alter sound waves incident on the acoustic device.
Abstract: A method to measure effective cerebral outflow pressure or intracranial pressure is disclosed. The craniospinal venous system has multiple anastomoses between the jugular veins and vertebral venous plexus. Jugular veins collapse with cervical compression or head elevation, when extrinsic pressure exceeds venous pressure. The vertebral venous plexus is exposed to intracranial pressure and collapses when intracranial pressure exceeds venous pressure. Vertebral venous plexus is not compressed with head elevation or cervical compression, because enclosure in the spinal canal protects veins from the direct effects of atmospheric pressure and cervical compression. Using cervical compression and/or head elevation blood outflow is redistributed between jugular veins and vertebral venous plexus, while the degree of cervical compression or head elevation indicates effective cerebral outflow pressure or ICP.

Abstract: The inventive method for protection of creative works is accomplished by creating a creative work, securing the creative work using biometric information of an author of the creative work, and restricting an access to the creative work to the author and select users, who are authorized by the author and whose biometric information is registered with a biometric security database.
Abstract: A method of and system for detecting a cartoon in a video stream are provided. The system comprises a storage device for storing the encoded signal and a processor for processing low parameter information extracted from the encoded video signal. The information is extracted based on the predetermined characteristics of a typical cartoon. At least one value is computed based on the low parameter information and it is compared to the predetermined values for natural video. Based on the comparison the determination is made whether the video sequence contains a cartoon.

Abstract: In this document, we proposed a hybrid MAC protocol that can utilize the precious wireless link bandwidth efficiently in the environment of a partially connected wireless network topology and VBR connections running in the network.
Abstract: A method of determining an ischemic event includes the steps of: monitoring and storing an initial electrocardiogram vector signal (x, y, z) of a known non-ischemic condition over the QRS, ST and T wave intervals; calculating and storing a J-point of the vector signal and a maximum magnitude of a signal level over the T wave interval; monitoring a subsequent electrocardiogram vector signal over the QRS, ST and T wave intervals; measuring and storing the magnitude (Mag.) of the vector difference between a subsequent vector signal and the initial vector signal; measuring and storing the angle (Ang.
