Abstract: A padlock type security seal and method of making same including a U-shaped shackle, a pair of reversely bent end portions, and a body portion having a pair of chambers for receiving the bent end portions. The chambers each have a locking groove therein for receiving the bent end portions. The seal elements are designed from two molded pieces, an insert and a body. The relative dimensions of the chambers, the shackle, and the locking grooves are chosen to prevent picking.
Abstract: A hard seated globe valve assembly for use in servicing high and low temperature fluids. The valve includes a moveable stem attached at one end to a tapered plug of hard material. An equally hard seat having a tapered surface is mounted for mating engagement with the plug when the valve is closed. The seat is located in a partition that separates the globe-shaped body into two chambers having fluid inlet-outlet orifices. An annular ring is mounted between the bearing end of the stem and the plug so that the plug is resiliently engaged in the seat when the valve is closed. It has been found that hard seated valves tend to be difficult to open or lose their sealing abilities when servicing extreme temperature fluids due to the expansion and contraction when the valve is heated and cooled. The resilience of the annular ring prevents this problem by permitting the plug to adjust during expansion and contraction, thus making it easier to open the valve after cooling and precluding loss of sealing during heating.
Abstract: A security seal having a tag attached to a flat strap at the central portion by a pair of flexible members. The seal is adapted for sealing a box structure or container having a strap in one surface thereof and a hasp attached to the container. The tag extends upwardly so as to be visible against the surface of the hasp and container. Formed in the label and the tag surface, such as by stamping or the like, are a plurality of circular scores randomly positioned. The random positioning may be recorded to provide a means for verification. Any attempt to remove the label from the tag will result in destruction of the label.
Abstract: Locking seal including a rod which is spring-locked within a lock body includes channel structure within the lock body and in the rod surface to preclude removal of the rod even during relative rotation between the rod and the lock body.

Abstract: A security seal having a plastic body including three elongated parallel chambers. Mating with the body is a U-shaped resilient shackle having a pair of legs each having a reversely bent end portion terminating in a sharp edge for insertion in two of the chambers. The third chamber in the body contains a frangible ampule containing a liquid dye. When used to seal a structure, the shackle is threaded through the structure, and the legs are inserted into the chambers. The sharp edges of the reversely bent end portions are flexed into tight engagement with the interior walls of the chambers.
Abstract: Rotary die cutting apparatus wherein the die blanket is mounted with respect to the anvil head such that both longitudinal and transverse relative movement is permitted between the die blanket and the anvil head during operation of the apparatus.
Abstract: A security seal having a plastic body including three elongated parallel chambers. Mating with the body is a U-shaped resilient shackle having a pair of legs each having a reversely bent end portion terminating in a sharp edge for insertion in two of the chambers. The third chamber in the body contains a frangible ampule containing a colorless liquid. A solid substance that combines with the liquid to create a third substance with a bright hue is stored in the third chamber and/or is coated on selected portions of the seal. When used to seal a structure, the shackle is threaded through the structure, and the legs are inserted into the chambers. The sharp edges of the reversely bent end portions are flexed into tight engagement with the interior walls of the chambers.
Abstract: A windsurfing harness comprising a cross-shoulder brace, at least two rear-arm support braces to which are attached attachments means such as boom hook straps or gloves. This harness securely holds the windsurfer to the sailboard boom while being easily disengageable from the bottom if necessary.
Abstract: A single ski apparatus is provided with a miniski, in addition to the single ski. The miniski is removably supported on an elevated platform which is atop a structure, the bottom of which is mounted on the single ski.
Abstract: This invention relates to terpolymers of chlorotrifluoroethylene, ethylene and perfluoroalkoxyperfluoroalkyl ethylene which have improved resistance to thermal stress cracking and improved high temperature properties.

Abstract: A lead cutting and bending apparatus provided for bending component leads placed through a circuit board. The cutting mechanism of the invention uses concentric components operating in an axial mode.
Abstract: The surface of a molten polymer is treated with a flame as the polymer is extruded; the polymer is co-calendered with a substrate as a fibrous web immediately downstream from the extruder and the flame. Articles so treated exhibit superior bond strengths. In one embodiment, both the polymer and the web are treated with a flame prior to the step of co-calendering.

Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for mounting elements on a roof, the elements having a mounting bracket, and the roof being formed by a plurality of beam supports wherein are mounted a plurality of spaced transverse roof supports having a fixably attached roof convering thereon, the roof covering having a plurality of bores therethrough, said apparatus comprising a sleeve member positioned on said roof covering and formed by a plate member having an opening therethrough and a tubular collar member affixed to the plate member in axial alignment with the opening in the plate member thereby forming a duct. The duct is positioned in axial alignment with the bore in the roof covering.
