Abstract: A reduction in the formation and presence of peroxides in low sulfur diesel fuels is obtained through the combination of those fuels with an organic nitrate combustion improver. The reduction in the amount of peroxides means that the fuel system elastomers will be more durable, as they are not being corroded by as much peroxide formed in the fuel, fuel color durability is improved, fuel stability is enhanced, and fuel sediments are reduced.
Abstract: A pricing model may be used by a decision maker in the evaluation of prices of numerous items to multiple customers. The present system and method facilitates targeted and strategic pricing decisions that increase profitability and avoid unnecessary risks in pricing changes. The method includes the analysis of three categories of information—sales volume, purchase frequency and gross profit percent.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for delivering manganese from a lubricant source into a fuel combustion system or to the exhaust therefrom. By the present invention, manganese from the lubricant will interact with phosphorus, sulfur, and/or lead from the combustion products. In this manner, the manganese scavenges or inactivates harmful materials which have migrated into the fuel or combustion products, and which can otherwise poison catalytic converters, sensors and/or automotive on-board diagnostic devices. The present invention can also lead to improved durability of exhaust after treatment systems.

Abstract: A method of enhancing the operation of diesel fuel combustion systems in a combustion system includes supplying a fuel and additive that includes a manganese compound to a diesel fuel combustion system. The fuel is then combusted in the combustion chamber to produce at least one byproduct including the manganese compound. The manganese compound is supplied in an amount effective to complex with the combustion byproduct. The diesel fuel combustion system operation is enhanced by improving the attributes of lubricating oil loaded with the combustion byproduct soot particles.

Abstract: A computer network management system for remotely managing a network device. The system includes a secure management access controller which is in direct communication with the network device. The secure management access controller provides access for remotely and securely managing a network. The secure management access controller further separates management communications from user communications to ensure the security of the management communications. The system further includes network and power monitoring and notification systems. The system further provides authentication and authorization capabilities for security purposes.
Abstract: A combustion additive is used for protecting and improving the operation of diesel fuel combustion systems. The additive contains one or more iron-containing compounds. The additive can be added to the fuel prior to introduction into a combustion chamber or to the exhaust after the combustion chamber. The additive will then enhance the operation of diesel fuel combustions systems by improving, for example, exhaust aftertreatment performance.
Abstract: The invention relates to an suspension apparatus for mounting a string on a stringed instrument. The apparatus has a base plate secured to the instrument, a shuttle slidably attached to the base plate, a saddle base attached to the shuttle and positionably adjustable relative to the shuttle, and a saddle. A string passes through the saddle wherein the saddle is height adjustable relative to the base plate, whereby the suspension apparatus is operable to adjust a string in three different directions.
Abstract: A hydrocarbonaceous fuel additive, fuel composition, and method all lower both carbon particulate emissions and improve slag properties in combustion systems including, for instance, utility furnaces and boiler systems. The mixed metal catalyst may include a transition metal-containing compound, an alkali metal compound, and a magnesium-containing compound.

Abstract: A method of removing mercury or mercury-containing material from flue gas produced by a coal-burning main furnace includes feeding coal, which contains mercury or mercury-containing material, to a main furnace which produces flue gas. The method further includes feeding the coal to an auxiliary burner which produces a slipstream of flyash, feeding the slipstream of flyash from the auxiliary burner into the flue gas produced by the main furnace, and introducing a mercury-active oxidant to the coal being fed to the auxiliary burner, the combustion air fed to the auxiliary burner, and/or the flyash.
Abstract: A method for producing alkylated cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyls, in particular a method for producing methyl cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl. It involves a process for synthesizing organometallic compounds. Alkylated cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyls are antiknock additives used in engine fuels.
Abstract: A novel highly grafted, multi-functional olefin copolymer is provided comprising an additive reaction product of a method comprising reacting acylating agent with an olefin copolymer having a number average molecular weight greater than about 1,000 in the presence of a free radical initiator and essentially free of hydrocarbon solvent in an extruder to provide an olefin copolymer intermediate comprising an acylated olefin copolymer having a degree of grafting (DOG) of at least 0.5 wt. %, which copolymer intermediate's molecular weight is reduced, vacuum stripped of unreacted components, pelletized, dissolved in a neutral oil (preferably with inert gas sparging), and further reacted with a polyamine to provide a grafted multi-functional olefin copolymer viscosity modifier, and lubricating oil concentrates and compositions containing the same and uses thereof.

Abstract: A combustible product of various shapes and compositions efficiently and conveniently supplies heat, such as for outdoor cooking. The product includes a hollow cone of combustible material defining a substantially cone-shaped exterior, a substantially cone-shaped interior space, a large opening in the base of the cone and a small opening in the top of the cone creating a flue to facilitate ignition of the product and to allow individual products to be stacked upon each other for larger heating requirements or for efficient storage before use. The product may be a single integral piece of combustible material, a plurality of combustible pieces secured to each other to form the cone shape, or a plurality of combustible pieces arranged into a cone shape through means of combustible packaging.
