Abstract: An assembly is provided for the prevention of scalding in showers and other such installations. The assembly includes a valve assembly within a mixed water supply line and a temperature sensitive element for controlling the operation of the valve assembly. The valve assembly is preferably designed to allow some leakage when in the closed position.

Abstract: An electric immersion thermometer, for use in a device such as a mixing faucet, is disclosed. The immersion thermometer includes a body which houses a temperature sensing assembly in which the sensing element is encapsulated or laminated in a plastic sheath or jacket. The encapsulating sheath being formed from a plastic thermally shrinking tubing and a plastic bracket for mechanically supporting the thermometer. A plastic insert also can be mounted in the body of the immersion thermometer that is coupled to the faucet. The plastic jacket has good heat conducting and electrical insulating properties.
Abstract: A mounting assembly to couple a water tank to a water closet is disclosed. The mounting assembly includes a threaded bolt, tubular elastomeric seal member and fastening means. The elastomeric member has centering ribs formed around its outer surface, a flanged head at one end and the other end is bifurcated. When the bolt is inserted therethrough, the elastomeric member expands in the tank mounting opening and the bifurcated end diverges to form a pair of latching tabs to prevent removal of the elastomeric seal member and bolt from the tank mounting opening.
Abstract: A flush tank, having a vertically extending wall positioned between the two vertical side walls to provide a first chamber which is filled with flush water and a second chamber which houses a removable washing means, is disclosed. The washing means is operatively coupled to water supply for the toilet and includes manually operated valve means to regulate the flow of wash water to cleanse the toilet bowl as needed.
Abstract: A top cartridge for an individual, sanitary, dual-control, shut-off valve is provided. The cartridge includes an upper stationary and a lower rotatable disk, each disk including port apertures. The disks are arranged with a defined clearance in the longitudinal direction of a driver pin. A driver is welded to the pin and includes a finger which engages the rotatable disk. The upper end of the pin is pressed within a spindle. The spindle is positioned within a bushing to prevent calcination and corrosion thereof. A seal is provided near the bottom end of the pin between the driver and the rotatable disk.
Abstract: A method of installation, in sealed relationship against at least one vertical wall, a bathing vessel of the type having a sump to contain water therein and a water drain outlet, the bathing vessel including a horizontal rim extending away from the sump and a horizontal rim extending away from the sump and a depending skirt formed around the horizontal rim, positioned relative to a sealing strip assembly, is disclosed.
Abstract: A method of making a sanitaryware article with a light transmitting panel. A sheet of light-transmitting plastic is formed into the shape of a article of sanitaryware which has a sump. A mask is applied to a portion of the plastic sheet and the remaining portions are covered with a coating which makes the areas opaque. The mask is removed and a rigid panel of a light transmitting plastic is bonded to the light transmitting area of the shell.
Abstract: An electronically operated mixing valve is disclosed wherein a combination of a control module which houses the electronics for electrically operating a valve module having one or more valves for mixing, shut-off and distribution of mixed water which is in contact with at least one temperature sensor, and an electromechanical motor module which is electrically connected to the valve module for automatically operating the one or more valves.
