Abstract: An apparatus is provided for coating a continuously advancing article. The apparatus includes a housing defining a spray chamber having an inlet end and an outlet end. Walls in the spray chamber form an inlet buffer zone adjacent the inlet end, an outlet buffer zone adjacent the outlet end and a spraying zone between the inlet and outlet buffer zones. A conveyor transports articles to be coated through the spray chamber. A plurality of spray guns are mounted on the housing to substantially surround an article on the conveyor transported through the spraying zone. The spray guns are adapted for spraying an ultraviolet curable coating composition. The spray guns are mounted substantially entirely outside the spraying zone, with only nozzle portions of the spray guns located inside the spraying zone.

Abstract: A liquid dispenser is provided for dispensing either one or both of two liquid products and includes a housing defining two liquid reservoirs. Two pump assemblies are respectively mounted in the liquid reservoirs for incrementally feeding two different liquid products out of two respective discharge outlets. Two operating levers are articulatably mounted on the housing and are respectively operatively associated with the two pump assemblies. One lever is effective to dispense one liquid product. The second lever is effective to dispense the second liquid product. The second lever is selectively operatively associated with the first lever to dispense both liquid products.

Abstract: A cargo holding system is provided for a marine freight vessel. The system includes a plurality of filament composite walls defining a cargo holding cavity of the vessel. A liquid impervious liner is disposed about the cavity within the walls for holding liquid cargo. The liner is collapsible to allow solid cargo to be loaded into the holding cavity.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a removable mandrel for use in filament winding a container, includes the steps of providing and inflating an internal bladder. A dry 3-D fabric layer of a given thickness is layed-up about the inflated bladder. An external vacuum/pressure bag is installed about the dry fabric layer. The dry 3-D fabric layer is impregnated with a liquid soluble resin between the internal bladder and the external bag. The resin then is cured to rigidify the fabric layer to form a mandrel structure. The container then can be wound on the mandrel formed by the cured and rigidified fabric layer, and the resin can be subsequently washed out to remove the fabric layer.

Abstract: A wire form basket is provided for holding food products in a cooking apparatus. The basket includes a frame having a plurality of upright side walls defining a cooking space therewithin. A plurality of generally horizontal food-supporting shelves are vertically stacked in the space between the side walls, with one shelf above another shelf. The shelves are movable from horizontal food-supporting positions to generally vertical loading positions to allow food products to be loaded onto a given shelf without interference from any shelf above the given shelf.

Abstract: A hand dispenser for dispensing an extrudable material includes a housing for holding the extrudable material, along with a pistol grip handle. A trigger member is mounted adjacent the pistol grip handle for movement in a path toward and away therefrom to incrementally effect a metered dispensing of the extrudable material. An adjustable stop cam is mounted in the path of movement of the trigger member. The stop cam has different cam portions engageable by the trigger member and is effective to limit movement of the trigger member to different degrees and, thereby, vary the metered amount of dispensed material. A piston rod has a series of ratcheting teeth on at least two different sides of the rod engageable by a drive pawl operatively associated with the trigger member. The ratcheting teeth in one series thereof has a spacing different from the spacing of the ratcheting teeth in the other series thereof.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a filament wound container includes providing a mandrel for winding a filament composite structure of a given thickness and having a closed end. The closed end is removed from the remainder of the composite structure, and the mandrel then is removed from the composite structure. A replacement closed-end member is positioned on the composite structure at the location of the removed closed end. The replaced closed-end member may be the original removed closed end. An overwrap thickness is filament wound about at least a portion of the composite structure and the replaced closed-end member.

Abstract: A toaster for bread-type food products includes a generally upright using defining a toasting cavity having a top mouth for depositing the food products into the cavity and a bottom opening from which toasted food products exit the cavity. A conveyor conveys the food products through the cavity. A toasting heater platen spaced from the conveyor toasts the food products as they are conveyed through the cavity. A flexible chute is disposed at the bottom opening of the cavity and against which the toasted food products are deposited as they exit the cavity. The flexible chute directs the toasted food products away from the opening at an angle to the direction the food products are conveyed through the cavity.

Abstract: An ink feeding system for feeding ink to an ink fountain of a printing, duplicating or like machine includes a can holder for holding a can of printing ink. A support arm suspends the can holder and can above the ink fountain. A piston-and-cylinder device feeds ink from the suspended can through a hole in the closed bottom end of the can and into the ink fountain. A disposable gasket is placed on top of the ink in the can for engagement by a piston head of the piston-and-cylinder device.

Abstract: A hanging assembly for displaying a sheet item of fabric art includes an elongated frame adapted for mounting on an appropriate upright support structure. An elongated flexible interface strip is adapted for attachment to the sheet item by appropriate non-invasive attaching media. A securing member secures the flexible interface strip to the frame.

Abstract: A safety system is provided for a vehicular fuel line installation which includes a fuel tank, an engine and delivery and return lines extending between the tank and the engine. A pump is operatively associated with the delivery line to feed fuel from the tank to the engine. Safety valves are provided in the delivery line at the pump and at the engine as well as in the return line at the tank and at the engine. A fuel filter is disposed in the delivery line and flexible hose sections may be disposed in the delivery line and/or the return line, and safety valves are disposed at opposite ends of the fuel filter and the flexible hose sections.

Abstract: A lockout device is designed for preventing unauthorized use of a valve located below ground level, the valve having a rotatable valve actuator. The device includes an elongated tubular housing of a length to have a lower end at the valve actuator and an upper end accessible generally at ground level. An encapsulating mechanism including a trap door are provided at the lower end of the tubular housing for securing the lower end to the valve and encapsulating the rotatable valve actuator, with the tubular housing being freely rotatable relative to the actuator.

Abstract: A system is provided for manually manipulating a food pan in a food warming apparatus having an open front end communicating with an interior warming compartment. A wire form pan holder cradles the food pan and moves the pan into and out of the warming compartment through the open end of the warming apparatus. A wire form grate is provided in the warming compartment for guiding the pan holder into and out of the compartment. The pan holder has a handle projecting forwardly thereof. First complementary interengaging stops between the wire form grate and the wire form pan holder define an inner position of the pan holder. Second complementary interengaging stops between the grate and the pan holder define an outer position of the pan holder.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for rapidly changing the temperature of food products or the like. The apparatus includes a tank having side walls and a bottom wall defining a reservoir for rethermalizing liquid. A nozzle introduces a substantial stream of rethermalizing liquid into the reservoir at a high velocity to cause a substantial turbulence substantially throughout the reservoir. The nozzle introduces the stream of rethermalizing liquid at a point remote from the side walls of the tank and, thereby, effect continuous movement of the liquid in the tank.

Abstract: An interface system between an end of a filament composite tube and a rigid interior end fitting. The system includes a plurality of traplocks having varying wall thicknesses at the bases thereof. The traplocks also have varying angles of the bearing faces thereof. A Y-shaped seal is disposed between an inboard end of the fitting and the inside of the composite tube.

Abstract: A toaster for bread-type food products includes a housing defining at least one toasting cavity. A toasting heater is operatively associated with the cavity. An endless chain-type conveyor is provided for conveying food products through the cavity. An endless belt is disposed about the conveyor to prevent the chain-type conveyor from imprinting the food products. The belt includes a seam, and a retention portion of the belt at the seam is engaged with the conveyor to prevent slippage between the belt and the conveyor.

Abstract: A food warming apparatus includes a housing defining at least one warming cavity having a ceiling. A heater warms food products within the cavity. A grate is provided within the cavity spaced below the ceiling of the cavity. At least one food tray is provided for containing food products and is supportable on the grate beneath the ceiling of the cavity. A seal is operatively associated between the top of the tray and the ceiling of the cavity. The grate includes a biasing portion for biasing the tray upwardly toward the ceiling to assure operability of the seal.

Abstract: A valve cover system is disclosed for use in a piston-and-cylinder type motor which includes a cylinder head assembly including a row of piston rods and valves operatively associated with respective rocker arms. A stud projects through each rocker arm and an adjusting nut is threaded on each stud for adjusting the position of the respective rocker arm. An elongated stud girdle extends along the row for unitarily locking the adjusting nuts together. At least one mounting post projects upwardly from the stud girdle. A valve cover is provided for covering the cylinder head assembly and is secured to the mounting post projecting from the stud girdle.
