Abstract: A traffic control signal particularly adapted for alternate one-way traffic situations such as are frequently encountered in highway construction zones whereby `STOP` AND "SLOW" sign panels can be alternately displayed with suitable control mechanism which produces a combination rotational and axial displacement of a signal panel whereby one traffic control message can be superimposed upon another for displaying either a "STOP" message or a "SLOW" for the vehicular traffic.
Abstract: A coffee dispenser particularly constructed to measure and dispense finely ground powdered coffee by providing an agitator for the lower portion of the hopper including an agitator portion moving through the discharge opening of the hopper to positively prevent bridging and clogging of the powdered coffee in the bottom portion of the hopper.
Abstract: A golf club putter embodying this invention is formed from a peripheral rod, bent to provide peripheral weighting of the putter head both at the top and bottom, as well as from heel to toe. The method of manufacturing the putter head includes bending a rod of suitable rigid material, such as stainless steel, into the desired head shape, to provide an enclosed open area into which a striking face insert is installed and permanently held in place with a suitable adhesive filler material, such as a polyester fiberglass resin and attaching the putter head to the bottom of a shaft by means of a threaded connection.
Abstract: This invention is a pole splicing joint construction and method of making the same and consists in initially preparing the upper end portion of the lower pole section to produce a splicing section having an abutment shoulder for the lower end of the upper section. This abutment shoulder is formed at the bottom of the splicing section of the lower pole section which has an outer abutment ring surface lying in a plane oriented substantially normal to the axis of the lower tube section.
Abstract: A collapsible fish house having a pair of hinged together base sections with a flexible protective covering supported by a plurality of collapsible bow units attached at their lower ends to the base sections with the entire cover and bow structure being completely enclosed within the folded base sections when in collapsed position.
Abstract: A biodegradable low density packing material, comprising an expanded wheat and starch product having high dimensional stability at high humidity and temperature ambient conditions. The invention also includes a method of preparing a low density biodegradable packaging material having a blended mix of wheat, amylose starch and amylopectin starch with approximately 1% gelatin being added after the initial mixing of the product at temperatures of 300.degree. to 350.degree. F.
Abstract: A spring tine rake having a plurality of raking tines formed from a flat resilient material with the upper portions thereof mounted in fixed relation on a handle and having a 90 degree twist therein to orient the lower blade portions of the tines in an upstanding plane generally parallel to the direction of the raking action.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for binding a plurality of folded sheets together by assembling the folded sheets with their fold lines in registration, clamping the assembled sheets together at the registered fold lines thereof, applying adhesive to the fold lines, and controlling the penetration of the adhesive into the areas between the clamped together registered folded edges. This permits controlling of the opening of the individual folded sheet units as well as the sheets of adjacent folded sheet units.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing substantial portions of the saline content in salt water by passing air bubbles through the salt water in a tank to produce droplets having substantially reduced salt content and collecting said reduced salt droplets in a collection tank.
Abstract: A one-way valve for use in the emergency closing of an open thoracic wound to prevent inflow of air into the thoracic cavity but permitting one-way outlet flow of air and liquid from the cavity thus preventing pressure build up within the thoracic cavity.
Abstract: The liquid filter assembly including a filter housing with an inlet below a prescribed external liquid level and having a generally cylindrical filter unit inside it with reusable filter elements which effectively operate at low pressure drops and permitting bypass liquid to recirculate within the filtered section without passing through the filter element and providing a filter support frame having the filter element supported thereon to provide a changeable filter assembly unit sealingly mounted within the housing.
Abstract: A convertible sofabed particularly designed for use with a futon-type mattress. The sofabed includes a back frame and seat frame elements pivotally connected together and pivotally mounted on a pair of rigid end frame members to facilitate shifting the back frame and the seat frame units from sitting to sleeping position.
Abstract: A slide mount for pick-up truck carriages which includes a mounting frame adapted to be connected under the ends of a transverse mounted toolbox with suitable rollers carried by the frame for supporting the toolbox and permitting the same to be transferred along the sides of a truck body on suitable rails mounted on the upper edges of the truck body sides with means for stabilizing roller movement of the toolbox and means for locking the toolbox in different positions along the length of the truck body in accordance with the desired functional position of the toolbox.
Abstract: A back flush filter system for a cleaning apparatus which includes a hollow filter member with a flow diffusing member inserted therein to cause the flow through the filter to be diffused into a substantially circumferential uniform flow passage through the entire area of the screen in both the filtering mode and the back flow mode of operation and including an atmospheric air vent to permit air entrapped within liquid flow system to escape and thus maintain a substantially air free liquid flow system.
