  • Patent number: 5750478
Abstract: This invention relates to synthetic based turbo oils, preferably polyol ester-based turbo oils which exhibit exceptional load-carrying capacity by use of a synergistic combination of sulfur (S)-based and phosphorous (P)-based load additives. The S-containing additive of the present invention is sulfurized fatty acid (SFA), preferably the sulfurized oleic acid (SOA) and the P-containing additive is one or more amine phosphate(s). The turbo oil composition consisting of the dual P/S additives of the present invention achieves an excellent load-carrying capacity, which is better than or equivalent to that obtained when each additive was used alone at a treat rate higher than the total additive combination treat rate, and this lower additive concentration requirement allows the turbo oil composition to meet or exceed U.S. Navy MIL-L-23699 requirements including Oxidation and Corrosion Stability and Si seal compatibility.

  • Patent number: 5747430
Abstract: The lubricant composition of the present invention is characterized in that 1 ppm to 500 ppm of polysiloxane with a viscosity of 1,000 mm.sup.2 /s to 100,000 mm.sup.2 /s at 40.degree. C. and 1 ppm to 5,000 ppm of ethylene glycol-propylene glycol polymer or a derivative thereof are blended with a base oil with a viscosity of 10 mm.sup.2 /s to 700 mm.sup.2 /s at 40 .degree. C. Because the lubricant composition of the present invention has excellent anti-foaming property, particularly in lubricants of high viscosity and at higher temperature, the composition is useful as a lubricant composition for use as bearing oil such as a lubricant for paper machine, hydraulic oil for injection molding press, and a lubricant for film orientation machine.

  • Patent number: 5741763
Abstract: A lubricant oil composition comprising a minor portion of calcium sulfonate(s), barium sulfonate(s), or mixture thereof being neutral or having the total base number of 100 mg KOH/g or less, and straight chain univalent fatty acid(s) having 8 to 18 carbon atoms and a major portion of a base oil of mineral oil series and/or synthetic oil series, said base oil having a kinematic viscosity of 10 to 50 mm.sub.2 /s at 40.degree. C. The lubricant oil composition of the present invention exerts excellent separation properties from a cutting fluid prepared by diluting a water-soluble cutting fluid. Therefore, the composition so readily separates and floats in a reservoir tank for the cutting fluid that the composition can be removed simply by means of an oil skimmer and the like. Thus, the properties of the water-soluble cutting fluid can be maintained for a long term, with no occurrence of poor work environment due to rot and so on.
