Abstract: A support surface is disclosed for transferring heat from a source to food articles placed adjacent said surface and having a plurality of heat conductive support elements each with at least one passageway therethrough, tubular means in each passageway and having a portion thereof extending beyond the ends of said passageways, and header or tubular means for interconnecting adjacent extending portions of said tubular means for transferring therebetween heated fluid from said source. The method of making the support surface is also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed having a plurality of elongated plates arranged to form elongated shelves to cook food items and additional plates arranged as troughs to hold the cooked food items for sale, each plate has a through bore connected to form a continuous passageway. A heat absorbing fluid at a constant temperature is circulated through the passageway of each plate to thereby heat the food items.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for disposing of the condensate collected in the drip pan of the evaporator coil of a refrigeration system located within a storage enclosure. An air pump is used to withdraw the condensate by aspiration from the drip pan and deposit it in a storage container outside of the enclosure. The stored condensate is subsequently transferred to a pan open to the atmosphere from which the condensate evaporates.

Abstract: A safety construction for a passenger vehicle having a fixed body portion secured to a chassis and a separable body portion comprising a passenger compartment with a platform secured to the chassis by a resilient release system. Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for heating or cooling food articles including a chamber containing a plurality of tubular, vertically, spaced-apart support means having a fluid inlet and outlet. A plurality of removably mounted hollow plates each having a plurality of spaced-apart tubular members having a fluid sealed therein connected to first and second plenums are positioned on the support means. Supply and return header means are connected to the inlet and outlet, respectively, of the support means and by conduit to a fluid reservoir and pump to circulate a fluid transfer means through each support means. Means for heating and cooling the fluid is also provided and control means for controlling operation of the heating and cooling means individually or in a predetermined sequence and at a preselected temperature is also included. During the heating mode the fluid inside the removable plates vaporizes and condenses.

Abstract: A fluorescent-type lamp fixture is disclosed which can be rapidly assembled and has channel and cover members each with means to enable the members to be snapped together. The cover member carries spaced-apart holders for receiving the lamp and other electrical components. A pair of caps are provided which are plugged into the open ends of the assembled channel and cover members, the caps are shaped to insure proper alignment and effect their retention. A lens is also provided having projections that are snapped into recesses in the end caps to hold it securely. In another embodiment, a light shield is rotatably mounted on adaptors positioned adjacent to the caps to direct light to a number of positions.
Abstract: A radial flow cooling tower is disclosed employing a novel circular support structure for housing both a plurality of sections of fill media and sections of a means for entraining fluid droplets and which permit their easy removal for cleaning or replacement. A system is provided for delivering the fluid to be cooled over the fill media and a motor driven fan for drawing air through the fill media as well as through the droplet entraining sections is positioned in an open central area defined by the fluid entraining sections.

Abstract: A heat exchanger for fluids is disclosed having a support assembly for the coil bundle which comprises two vertically spaced-apart support members between which the coil bundle of the exchanger is positioned. The bundle comprises a plurality of vertically spaced tubes each having a number of convolutions which slope upwardly and proceed outwardly to form the bundle. A bridge member having spaced-apart scalloped portions is provided which separate the convolutions of each tube to permit air and water to circulate therebetween. The support members have means for varying the slope of the bridge members depending on the nature of the fluid entering the exchanger.

Abstract: A refrigerated storage enclosure has its wall, floor and roof panels made of polyurethane initially joined together by skewers. The inside surfaces of the panels are covered with a layer of fiberglass reinforced resin to permanently join the panels as is the entire outside thereby forming a monolithic structure. A door is provided in an opening in one of the walls and a skid is attached to the underside of the floor panel with fiberglass reinforced resin.
Abstract: A building construction element such as insulative siding is disclosed having an outer skin with an inner surface on which a plurality of individual, spaced-apart, arcuate-shaped projections are cut or gouged from the inner surface by a cutting tool means. A low density polymetric foam material is disposed over the inner surface so as to completely surround each arcuate projection to thereby securely lock the skin to the foam material after it sets.
