Abstract: Oral care devices are provided that include a first component and a second component removably engaged with the first component; the first and second components having a respective fluid passageway extending therethrough, the respective passageways capable of fluid communication while the first and second components are engaged; and at least one of the first and second components including a sealing member constructed to allow fluid communication between the first and second passageways when the first and second passageways are engaged and to close the associated passageway when the first and second components are disengaged. Oral care devices are also provided that include a replaceable and refillable cartridge.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a toothbrush. The invention relates in particular to a toothbrush filament having a filament body surrounding a matrix material in which grains are embedded, wherein the matrix material and the grains have a different resistance to etching so that by etching the matrix material and/or the grains a surface structure can be created on the filament body at least in the area of the tapering end section. According to one aspect of the present invention, grains having a shell structure with a grain shell, in which is encapsulated a grain core comprising a core material different from the shell material, have been embedded in the matrix material of the filament.
Abstract: A system and method employing image analysis may provide an objective measure of the state of gingival tissue health. A region of analysis on an image of gingival tissue may be divided into pixels. Each pixel may have an associated color made up of component R, G and B values. A user may obtain an objective measurement of oral cavity soft tissue health by determining an objective measurement of the component color values of a gingival tissue image region and performing statistical analysis on the color values.

Abstract: A process for making bleach granules comprising a bleach selected from the group of diacyl, tetraacyl peroxide and mixtures thereof, selected from diacyl peroxides of the general formula: R1—C(O)—OO—(O)C—R2 in which R1 represents a C6-C18 alkyl group and R2 represents an aliphatic group compatible with a peroxide moiety, such that R1 and R2 together contain a total of 8 to 30 carbon atoms; the tetraacyl peroxide is selected from tetraacyl peroxides of the general formula: R3—C(O)—OO—C(O)—(CH2)n-C(O)—OO—C(O)—R3 in which R3 represents a C1-C9 alkyl group and n represents an integer from 2 to 12, wherein the process comprises the step of dry granulating the diacyl and/or tetraacyl peroxide.

Abstract: A process for making a detergent composition, the detergent composition comprising: a) from about 0.1% to about 50% by weight of the composition of a polymer in particulate form comprising: i) a carboxylic acid monomer; ii) more than about 5% by weight of the polymer of a sulfonic acid monomer; and iii) optionally a non-ionic monomer; and b) from about 0.01% to about 10% by weight of the composition of a hydrophobic silica the process comprising the steps of: a) pre-mixing the polymer with the hydrophobic silica to obtain a polymer/silica premix; and b) mixing polymer/silica premix with any additional detergent components.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a disposable cleaning article for cleaning a bathroom surfaces which includes a layer of nonwoven substrate and a cleaning composition which can be either in a liquid or paste form. The cleaning article is water activate. The present invention also relates to a method of cleaning a hard surface by adding water to a disposable cleaning article impregnated with a cleaning composition and then wiping the bathroom surface.
