  • Patent number: 7839853
Abstract: A transmitting apparatus includes a network interface for connecting between networks; an information embedding unit that embeds, in a frame output from the network interface, first port information for identifying a first port through which the frame is received; and a path deciding unit that decides, when second port information for designating a second port that is an output destination of the frame is embedded in the frame received through the network interface, to output the frame to the second port.

  • Patent number: 7825928
Abstract: An image processing apparatus capable of efficient rendering is provided. In an image processing apparatus which renders, in a screen coordinate system, unit figures each constituting the surface of a three-dimensional object to be rendered, a rasterizing unit divides a rendering area corresponding to a screen into multiple unit areas, while a first unit figure is projected onto a screen coordinate system, and outputs the unit areas. A similar process is applied to second and subsequent unit figures so that the multiple unit areas constituting each unit figure are sequentially output. An area divider divides each of the unit areas sequentially output from the rasterizing unit into multiple subareas. An area discarder discards as necessary a subarea obtained by the division by the area divider according to a predetermined rule. An area writer re-merges subareas that survived the discarding process by the area discarder and writes merged areas obtained by re-merge in the memory.

  • Patent number: 7796609
Abstract: A packet processing device that achieves stable operation by alleviating the workload of packet processing. A packet buffer checks a packet length flag and a processing time flag to observe the device's operating condition for a first connection. When neither of the two flags are on, the packet buffer keeps buffering first packets on the first connection. When either or both flags are on, the packet buffer changes focus to a second connection and begins buffering second packets on the second connection. A packet length monitor turns on the packet length flag if a new cumulative packet length is greater than a packet length threshold. A processing time monitor turns on the processing time flag if a new cumulative processing time estimate is greater than a predetermined processing time threshold.

  • Patent number: 7760667
Abstract: A learning-target packet to be used for a path learning is selected from among a plurality of packets queued by a relay apparatus. A relationship between a transmission-source address and a first-arrival port for the selected learning-target packet is registered as learning information. A packet corresponding to the registered learning information is transferred to the first-arrival port pertaining to the learning information, and a packet that does not correspond to the learning information is transferred to all ports to which the packet is to be transferred.
