  • Patent number: 6752854
Abstract: A venturi scrubber plate for a waste capture system and method for a waste material entrained in a fluid flow includes an enclosure having a flood sheet over which a liquid flows into a collection trough, an exhaust device which draws the fluid flow from the enclosure, across the collection trough, and through a throat section to a primary scrubber section, the venturi scrubber plate including a plate which is mounted on and substantially covers the collection trough, which has defined therein a plurality of holes, and through which the fluid flow containing the waste material flows, wherein the plate imposes a venturi effect on the fluid flow effective to accelerate the fluid flow so that turbulent mixing of the fluid flow containing the waste material and the liquid takes place and results in improved capture of waste material by the liquid ahead of the primary scrubber section.

  • Patent number: 6656217
Abstract: The aggregation of platelets on the surface of a foreign body exposed to the flowing blood of a living being (such as plastic tubing, a balloon or the end of a catheter surgically inserted in a blood vessel, a stent implanted therein or synthetic grafts, which surface normal promotes such platelet aggregation to form a coating firmly affixed to that surface which would restrict the flow of blood past that surface or to form a blood clot detachable from that surface), is inhibited by a gas permeable coating on the surface of a physiologically acceptable polymer as which contains dissolved or dispersed therein a nitrosyl-containing organometallic compound, such as sodium nitroprusside, which is protected from diffusion from the coating and from direct contact with the blood and which slowly decomposes at the body temperature within the coating and in so doing releases a platelet aggregation-inhibiting amount of nitric oxide which diffuses from the coating during the period when platelet aggregation by the surfa

  • Patent number: 6641679
Abstract: A soldering flux according to the present invention is a soldering flux containing an epoxy resin and an organic carboxylic acid, wherein the epoxy resin and the organic carboxylic acid are compounded at a ratio of 1.0 equivalent of epoxy group in the epoxy resin to 0.8-2.0 equivalent of carboxyl group in the organic carboxylic acid, and a total amount of the epoxy resin and the organic carboxylic acid is 70% or more by weight based on the total weight of the soldering flux. A lead-free solder composition according to the present invention is a solder composition containing the soldering flux and a lead-free solder. The soldering flux or the lead-free solder composition according to the present invention has special advantages of maintaining an activation by the flux, good wettability of the solder, and no inhibition of a sealing resin from curing.
