  • Patent number: 6685729
Abstract: A process for treating aberrant sensory afferents and motor efferents includes performing a singular sensory or motor function test, and identifying an area of dysfunction. A nerve root and pathway to the area of dysfunction, a structural or biochemical component of the dysfunction, vascular supply to the area of dysfunction, blood supply/lymphatic drainage for the area of dysfunction, and viscera associated with the area of dysfunction is then identified. These areas are stimulated using the therapeutic device until retesting no longer detects any dysfunction. Neurological inhibition is identified by performing two or more sensory or motor function tests simultaneously. The therapeutic device is used to stimulate the area of dysfunction, spine and head until the neurological inhibition is no longer detected.

  • Patent number: 6683779
Abstract: A personal grounding system for collecting and removing unnatural electrical charges from a human body includes a grounding pad having a layer of carbon fibers, and a conductor substantially extending across the layer in conductive contact with the carbon fibers. A ground lead is conductively coupled to the grounding pad conductor at one end thereof and conductively coupled to a grounded anchor at a second end thereof. Preferably, the grounded anchor is placed directly into the earth, although in certain applications constitutes a metal grounding component. The system may include a wall plate in conductive connection with the grounded anchor. The ground lead is removably attached to the wall plate via a connector attached thereto. The grounding pad may be configured to be a sleeping pad, seat pad, or strap or patch attachable to the human body.

  • Patent number: 6679086
Abstract: A padlock having a lock body defining an interior cavity includes a locking mechanism operably disposed within the inner cavity. A shackle is releasably lockable to the body in the closed position for securing an object, and movable to an open position for receiving and releasing the object. A protective sheath is attached to the shackle so as to substantially encase exposed portions of the shackle in the closed position. The sheath defines a closed space between the sheath and the lock body for securing an object, and is movable with the shackle into an open position for receiving and releasing the object.

  • Patent number: 6672439
Abstract: A tote bag for paper and supplies includes a bottom wall extending between bottom edges of generally parallel front and back walls. Expandable side walls extend between parallel side walls of the front and back walls to form an expandable storage area. Dividers are disposed within the expandable storage area and either permanently attach to the side walls, or have apertures for removable attachment to cables within the storage area. A cover is movable between an open and closed position. The cover includes side flaps attachable to the side walls, or an inner surface of the cover. Handles extend from each of the front and back walls, and a strap formed on the back wall is configured to fit over an extendable handle of a roller tote.

  • Patent number: 6666486
Abstract: A slide bolt unit is provided for releasibly locking a door or window or the like, such as a semi-active door in a double door entry set. The slide bolt unit includes an elongated slide bolt carried by a channel-shaped housing adapted for recessed mounting into a side edge of a door or the like. An actuator tab on the slide bolt is exposed through a position control slot formed in the housing for fingertip actuation to displace the slide bolt between an advanced position engaging a keeper on an adjacent header or sill or the like to lock the door in a closed position, and a retracted position to permit door opening.

  • Patent number: 6665900
Abstract: An improved pool cleaner is provided of the type for random travel over submerged floor and side wall surfaces of a swimming pool or the like to dislodge and collect debris. The pool cleaner includes a hydraulically contoured external housing having a stabilizer float integrated with a carrying handle at an elevated rearward location. The pool cleaner additionally incorporates modular components including a simplified mast unit and related water distribution manifold for delivery of water under pressure to a water turbine drive unit for rotatably driving cleaner wheels to travel over submerged pool surfaces, with a portion of the pressurized water inducing a vacuum action for collecting debris within a porous filter bag. The modular components are mounted on an internal frame which is quickly and easily accessible for service or maintenance by removal of the external housing.

  • Patent number: 6663782
Abstract: A method for treating livestock wastewater includes directing screened wastewater to a hydrocyclone/separation tank system. The hydrocyclone directs the wastewater stream in a generally helical fashion to create bubble-particle aggregates. Activating chemicals can be added to the wastewater upstream of the hydrocyclone or within the hydrocyclone itself. The wastewater is channeled from an outlet of the hydrocyclone through a diffuser to a separation tank, where the bubble-particle aggregates are separated as they rise and accumulate on a free liquid surface of the tank. The treated wastewater settles below the bubble-particle aggregate accumulation and is transferred to a reservoir for later use as irrigation water or barn wash water. Salts may also be removed from the wastewater by filtering the wastewater through salt-removing filters before the wastewater is transferred to the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6655665
Abstract: A process for adjusting carburation in a bowl-type carburetor having a main fuel jet for directing fuel to be mixed with air includes moving a needle into and away from the main fuel jet orifice. The needle is threadably inserted through a bowl plug of the carburetor, and moved into and away from the main fuel jet orifice by manually actuating a knob operably associated with an end of the needle extending from the carburetor, allowing the adjustment of carburation without carburetor disassembly, and even while the vehicle is moving.
