Abstract: A composition useful for treating fabrics. The composition contains a silver-containing copolymer having polymerized units of a monomer X and a monomer Y; wherein monomer X is an ethylenically unsaturated compound having a substituent group selected from an unsaturated or aromatic heterocyclic group having at least one nitrogen atom; wherein monomer Y is selected from carboxylic acids, carboxylic acid salts, carboxylic acid esters, organosulfuric acids, organosulfuric acid salts, sulfonic acids, sulfonic acid salts, phosphonic acids, phosphonic acid salts, vinyl esters, (meth)acrylamides, C8-C20 aromatic monomers containing at least one exocyclic ethylenic unsaturation and combinations thereof.
Abstract: A method for preparing monodisperse crosslinked bead polymers by introducing droplets having a harmonic mean size from 50 to 1500 microns and comprising at least one monomer, at least one crosslinker and a free-radical polymerization initiator into an aqueous medium through orifices to produce an aqueous suspension of droplets having a volume fraction of droplets from 35 to 64%; wherein the droplets are not encapsulated; causing the aqueous suspension of droplets to flow in a downward direction in a pipe in which the temperature is maintained at least 20° C. below the temperature at which the polymerization initiator has a half-life of 1 hour; and polymerizing the droplets in a reactor.

Abstract: A method for producing a mixture of ethylene and carbon monoxide by contacting ethane and an oxygen source at a temperature of at least 500° C. to produce ethylene and carbon monoxide. A method for producing an alkyl propionate by steps of: (a) contacting ethane and an oxygen source at a temperature of at least 500° C. to produce ethylene; (b) contacting an alcohol, ethylene and carbon monoxide with an ethylene carbonylation catalyst to produce the alkyl propionate; and (c) separating the alkyl propionate from byproducts and starting materials.
