  • Patent number: 5891116
Abstract: A hot wax system for conditioning one's hands that includes a wax that is meltable at a temperature below that which would be harmful to one's skin. The molten wax is placed into an elastic glove that is stretchable to at least 150% of its original length and rebounds to at least 20% of its original length. Thereafter, one's hand is placed into the glove and the glove is manipulated to disperse the wax over all the hand surfaces. The hand is kept in the glove until the desired result is achieved--normally about five to thirty minutes. The process may be repeated with the user's other hand and wax dispersement can be accomplished simultaneously in both gloves by repetitively pressing the gloved hands together. The wax may be conveniently enclosed in a heat resistant container or within the glove itself to facilitate storage, heating and to insure that the correct amount of wax is being utilized.

  • Patent number: 5871353
Abstract: The invention provides for the incorporation of dentifrice preparations, which are commonly accessed from a container on a tray during teeth cleaning, internally within the housing of a disposable prophy angle. Auger, baffle or piston members are used to move the preparations from the housing through passages in the head of the prophy angle to a moving prophy cup. If a reusable autoclavable prophy angle is being used, the invention provides for an annular chamber containing the dentifrice preparation that interfits as a sleeve over the prophy angle body. In such case, the prophy angle head is enlarged and includes an inlet connection with the annular chamber. Passageways in the head direct the dentifrice preparation to the prophy cup and a piston ring is used to move the dentifrice preparation from the chamber through the passageways. Alternatively, an external pressurized supply of the dentifrice preparation may be connected to a conduit which is attached to the body in place of the annular chamber.

  • Patent number: 5715895
Abstract: A dual walled pipe string structure defines an annular cavity between the walls into which hard granules may be packed to oppose wall collapse when inserted to high pressure well depths. Segments of pipe thus constructed will reduce the heat transfer across the pipe string allowing for the conveyance of drilling mud from a surface cooler to a downhole tool. The rate of cooled drilling mud transfer to the tool may be controlled to match the heat transfer rates and the heat generated at the tool. To further oppose wall pressures inert gas at opposing pressure may be introduced into the interstices between the granules.

  • Patent number: 5711423
Abstract: A container is provided for a collapsible package of wrapped and/or consumable items. The container comprises an outer housing having a movable inner partition that divides the interior into a waste compartment and a package receptacle area. As the packaged items are removed, the partition is moved against the package causing it to collapse and become reduced in size. The amount of reduction results in a concomitant increase in size of the waste compartment. The partition may be an integral part of a sleeve structure having side panels with grip members accessible through openings in the housing walls. The housing is at least partially enclosed with a movable top cover which may include a waste opening and movable lid.

  • Patent number: 5680946
Abstract: A dynamic joint connection is provided between the neck region of a base and the engagement end of a cap. The neck region comprises a reduced diameter end of the base which is offset from the base outer wall by a flat ledge. Located above the ledge a first axial distance, is a first convex rib. The interior surface of the cap engagement end is provided with a cap rib which is located a third axial distance above its abutment end. The third distance will locate the cap rib against the first rib on the down-sloping portion of its surface when the cap abutment end is in contact with the neck region ledge. The compressive force of the cap ring against the first rib will cause the abutment end to be biased downwardly against the ledge. This unstable condition creates a dynamic connection that maintains its integrity throughout rough handling, internal pressures and varying ambient conditions. The neck region can include a second rib.

  • Patent number: 5626155
Abstract: A method of producing a custom fragrance is provided comprising the steps of selecting a series of basic scents. The scents are incorporated into a semi-solid or solid vehicle to produce a scented product. With the semi-solid vehicle the product will be in the form of a viscous cream, gel or ointment contained in a squeeze tube, jar or the like. The solid form will be wax-like and may be molded into a predetermined shape or cast into a wide-mouthed container or mechanical dispensing device. To carry-out the invention, a user transfers a selected product to a portion of one's skin or other surface. One or more additional scented products are selected and applied in the same manner. The products are then manually mixed together on the skin or other surface to form a custom fragrance in-situ.
