  • Patent number: 4349009
Abstract: Air circulation and supply means for a heat generator, primarily a fireplace. The fireplace has air supply and discharge passageways such that an envelope of moving air is provided around both the combustion gas flue and the firebox and a portion of said supply air is introduced as combustion air into said firebox. More specifically, an air siphon is provided whereby both the firebox and the flue of combustion gases are substantially surrounded (except for the firebox opening) by three walls wherein relatively cold external air flows downwardly from the atmosphere between the outer wall and the intermediate wall and flows upwardly to the atmosphere between the intermediate wall and the innermost wall. An air channel is provided across and along the top of the fireplace opening and connected so that air may flow therethrough from the space between two of said walls and can be discharged therefrom into the upper part of the firebox.

  • Patent number: 4331251
Abstract: A compact, lightweight pressure cooker which is particularly well-suited for backpacking and camping is disclosed. The pressure cooker assembly features two complementary mating pan sections which permit nestable, stacked engagement of one pan section within the other when disassembled. Each pan section has an annular, flanged rim which permits mutually superposed mating engagement when assembled. The pan sections are held together by clasp fasteners which are movable from a retracted, closed position of latching engagement with the assembled flanged rims to an open position in which the flanged rims are released, thereby permitting disengagement and separation of the pan sections. A curved handle is pivotally attached to each clasp and is movable from a retracted position in which the handle engages the clasp to an extended position in which both handles may be grasped and held together with one hand.

  • Patent number: 4300237
Abstract: A system for single sideband modulation, and a method implemented by the system. The system includes a double sideband, suppressed carrier modulator and a phase locked loop circuit receiving the output of the modulator and tuned to lock to one of the sidebands of the modulator output. The phase locked loop circuit produces an output having a constant amplitude, but otherwise tracking the signal contained in the one sideband. The output of the phase locked loop is processed by an amplifier having a controllable gain. Open and closed loop circuits are provided for deriving the amplitude of the signal contained in the one sideband. The latter amplitude is imparted to the output of the phase locked loop by using the signal amplitude to control the gain of the amplifier.

  • Patent number: 4268294
Abstract: A filter system and method for extracting entrained lint particles from an effluent air stream prior to discharge into the atmosphere. The system and method are intended for use in combination with a cyclonic separator of the type having a vertical settling chamber for separating relatively dense fiber product from airborne lint entrained in a product stream. The filter system includes a housing forming an air stream inlet, a lint discharge outlet and a clean air outlet. A rotatable screen is interposed between the air stream inlet and the clean air outlet whereby the entrained lint is accumulated on the screen as the effluent air stream flows through the screen for discharge into the atmosphere. The accumulated lint deposit is presented to the lint discharge outlet as the screen turns. A first fan blower is coupled to the separator for inducing an upwardly moving inner vortex for entraining the airborne lint, and coupled to the filter inlet for discharging the entrained lint onto the rotatable screen.
