  • Patent number: 7421933
Abstract: An improved telescoping stun gun comprising a self-contained power source electrically connected to a voltage step-up circuit that has an output of stepped-up voltage. A first tube section is connected to a handle. One or more additional tube sections are disposed more or less concentrically within the first tube section, the smallest being the innermost tube section. The tube sections are preferably multiple sections of interlocking, concentric, thin-walled, rigid, tapered tubes. The smallest tube section includes one or more probes that are electrically connected to the output of the step-up circuit. The tube sections are configured so that if a centrifugal force, such as the flick of the wrist is applied, the inner tube sections automatically extend and lock into place forming a shaft that extends away from the handle. A probe or probes at the end of the smallest tube section are located at the distal end of the entire shaft and can be used to shock or warn a potential attacker.

  • Patent number: 6589248
Abstract: A patellar alignment device for determining the position of a patella prosthesis. The device comprises two components—a baseplate and a mobile component which is preferably magnetically attached to the baseplate. During a surgical procedure to replace the knee, the baseplate is temporarily attached to the back of the patella. The baseplate may contain spikes or prongs to secure it to the patella. The baseplate further includes a series of slots for marking the patella. The mobile component resembles a patella and is placed on the baseplate. The patella with the alignment device in place is then placed in position on the knee and trialed. Because the mobile component is free to move on the baseplate, it finds the position that is most amenable to a natural knee movement. The alignment device is then exposed and the patella is marked at the position of the mobile component. Since the baseplate contains a series of slots, the patella can be easily marked at several locations around the mobile component.

  • Patent number: 6488307
Abstract: A trailer tongue that can be rolled to an extended and retracted position. The present trailer tongue comprises a housing having and interior portion and an exterior portion. At least one track is located along the interior portion of the housing. In a particularly preferred embodiment, two tracks are welded to on the interior portion of the housing. The trailer tongue further includes a rollaway mechanism that preferably includes at least one wheel for rolling along the track. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the rollaway mechanism includes two wheels for rolling along the tracks welded to the interior portion of the housing. The wheels are positioned to cooperate with the tracks so that the slide mechanism rolls easily along the tracks from an extended position to a retracted position.

  • Patent number: 6279775
Abstract: A tissue dispenser which includes a container portion for holding tissues or other articles. The container portion includes a lower portion which may fit within an adjustable or non-adjustable vehicle cup holder, a transition portion positioned above the lower portion, and an upper portion positioned above the transition portion. The lower portion preferably has a diameter that can fit most non-adjustable vehicle cup holders provided by automobile manufacturers. The transition portion extends outwardly from the lower portion and typically has a flare-like shape. The upper portion extends upward from the transition portion and is preferably larger in height and diameter than the lower portion in order to increase the containment volume for the present tissue dispenser. The lower portion, transition portion and upper portion of the container portion define an interior space for receiving and containing tissues or other articles to be dispensed by the present tissue dispenser.
