  • Patent number: 5860010
Abstract: A language with similar representation for programs and data is used in cooperative data processing applications, particularly for the distribution of information and processing in a network management system in accordance with executable messages which convey the code to be executed, identifying simultaneously the functions to be applied and the data on which the functions must be applied. The messages are asynchronous and are sent in the network in a free format from an interpreter INT of said language in one machine to another interpreter of said language in another machine.

  • Patent number: 5737242
Abstract: The invention relates to a method that makes it possible to automatically and exactly calculate the probabilities associated with a Boolean function. The probability of an event represented by a Boolean function (f) is determined by constituting a binary decision diagram of the function and by making recursive traversals through the diagram.

  • Patent number: 5097124
Abstract: Process for the detection in an atmosphere to be monitored of a chemical substance of known mass M using an apparatus for the ionization of said atmosphere and for the dissociation, filtration and detection of the ions formed having in a vacuum enclosure and in said order on the path of the ions:an ion source (1),a dissociation case (3) raised to earth potential,an electrostatic analyzer (4),a detector (5) of ions having passed through the aforementioned apparatus and characterized in that:the voltage V.sub.0 for extracting ions from the ion source (1) is fixed at a constant value;the filtration energy level W of the electrostatic analyzer (4) is varied so as to optionally detect in the detector (5) the dissociation ion fragments m.sub.1, . . . m.sub.k of the substance of mass M crossing the electrostatic analyzer at energies (m.sub.1 /M)eV.sub.0 =W.sub.1, (m.sub.2 /M) eV.sub.0 =W.sub.2 . . . (mk/M) eV.sub.0 =Wk and making it posible to confirm the presence of the substance of mass M.

  • Patent number: 5077767
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the existence of misorientation in a crystal, comprising irradiating the crystal with X-rays pre-orientating any crystallographic plane of the crystal with respect to the axis of the X-rays, imaging X-rays received from the crystal so as to cause a plurality of effectively angularly-separated images to be formed, the energy of the X-rays being such that while carrying out the method at least some of the X-rays forming the images have intersected the whole depth of the portion of the crystal being examined, and determining the existence of any misorientation from the images.

  • Patent number: 4987253
Abstract: Disclosed is a synthesis of desferrioxamine B and analogs and homologs thereof beginning with the generation of the O-protected N-(4-cyanobutyl)hydroxylamine which is acylated at the O-benzylhydroxylamine nitrogen with either succinic or acetic anhydride. The resulting half-acid amide or amide respectively, is subjected to a series of high yield condensations and reductions which provide desferrioxamine B in 45% overall yield. Finally, a desamino analog of desferrioxamine is prepared in order to demonstrate the synthetic utility of the scheme as applied to desferrioxamine derivatives.

  • Patent number: 4875900
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treatment of leather for improving the chrome exhaustion and various other properties. The method consists in treating the leather with a dispersion microcrystalline polyamide or polyester. Such a treatment is carried out at the stage of tanning, rechroming, retanning or dyeing.

  • Patent number: 4770227
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of cast metal strip of amorphous and/or compact grained structures. To enable the strip to be coiled on reels at high strip speeds, the strip 6 is guided at the outlet of the casting apparatus 1-6 having a casting wheel 4 over a first and second strip guide channel. The first strip guide channel is formed by at least one cooling wheel 9, 11 and a guide wall 10, 12 disposed concentrically of the cylindrical surface of the cooling wheel 9, 11. By means of a cooling medium the strip is forced against the cylindrical surface of the cooling wheel 9, 11 and thereby intensively cooled at a high conveying speed and without tensile stress. When it leaves the or each cooling wheel 9, 11 the strip 6 is strong enough to pass freely guided through the perpendicularly disposed second guide channel 14.
