  • Patent number: 6677287
Abstract: A detergent composition for use with a disposable cleaning pad preferably comprising an effective amount of a superabsorbent material, said pad preferably being part of a cleaning implement comprising a handle and said cleaning pad preferably being removable. The detergent composition contains a disappearing dye and, preferably, limited amount of detergent surfactant, preferably linear in structure and relatively hydrophilic, the level of hydrophobic materials preferably being kept below about 3%, and the pH preferably being above about 9, to allow the superabsorbent material to be readily absorbed by superabsorbent material. The process of using the detergent composition with such a cleaning pad, and the provision of a kit containing both detergent composition and cleaning pad are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6669391
Abstract: The cleaning implement has a handle a mop head attached to the handle and the mop head comprises a plurality of attachment structures formed from a flexible material. The cleaning implement also comprises a liquid delivery system having a container filled with a cleaning solution, fitment which has a fluid transfer check valve communicating with a nozzle and a vent valve. The vent valve has a cracking pressure such that venting occurs in the container when the pressure differential defined by P1−P2 is superior to the cracking pressure, where P1 is the atmospheric pressure and P2 is the pressure inside said container. The cleaning implement also includes a disposable cleaning pad which has an absorbent layer and an attachment layer. The attachment layer has at least one notch located on the leading edge of the attachment layer such that the cleaning solution is dispensed from the nozzle without being obstructed by the attachment layer.

Abstract: The cleaning implement has a handle a mop head attached to the handle and the mop head comprises a plurality of attachment structures formed from a flexible material. The cleaning implement also comprises a liquid delivery system which has a container filled with a cleaning solution and removably attached to a fitment. The fitment has a fluid transfer check valve which communicates with a nozzle which is adjacent the leading edge of the mop head. A disposable cleaning pad having an absorbent layer and an attachment layer adjacent the absorbent layer can be attached to the mop head. When the cleaning solution is dispensed, it has an average exit velocity of at least 0.009 cm/sec with 95% of the delivered cleaning solution being located within an area defined by an isosceles triangle defined by an apex adjacent the nozzle, a base and a first and second side which intersect at the apex and are equal in length.

  • Patent number: 6652766
Abstract: Polymer compositions, while providing suitable wrinkle control, also tend to dispense poorly when sprayed. The present invention shows that when viscosity of polymer compositions is minimized spray dispensing improves. Several approaches to minimizing the viscosity of polymer compositions are disclosed. Methods of controlling wrinkles in fabrics comprise treating fabrics with a variety of polymer compositions following a variety of methods. Articles of manufacture comprise (1) a container or substrate, (2) a wrinkle controlling composition, and (3) a set of instructions.
