Abstract: A perfume bottle closure includes a stopper and a crown. A plurality of projections on the stopper are received with a snap-type action in corresponding recesses formed within the crown.
Abstract: A highly compact, stable mechanism for enabling a chair to perform rocking and gliding movements, and optionally swiveling movement, includes a channel-shaped frame mounting member mounted to a chair frame, and an inverted channel-shaped base mounting member mounted on a base. The mounting members are interconnected by one pair of front and one pair of rear swing arms.
Abstract: A capacitively coupled printed patch (3) as a high efficiency device to couple orthogonally polarized energy between a microstripline (5) and a waveguide (1). Coupling between the microstripline (5) and the patch (3) is achieved by the microstripline terminating in a narrow strip probe (4), the end of which lies close to, but not in contact with, an edge of the patch (3). Two separate probes (4) arranged mutually orthogonally are used to effect independent polarized couplings to produce independent linear orthogonal signals or independent left- and right-handed circularly polarized signals. The microstriplines (5) and patch (3) are supported on a common substrate (8) which extends transversely through the waveguide (1). The waveguide wall has a quarter-wavelength thickness (T) so that its inner edge (10) appears continuous to energy passing through the substrate (8).
Abstract: The power supply circuit has an inductor connected to a DC source through a regulating circuit arranged to maintain a constant current in the inductor. A MOSFET is connected to the inductor and to the spark gap so that when the MOSFET is conducting, current is diverted from the inductor to the spark gap. The frequency and mark-space ratio of switching of the switching device is controlled to control the machining process. A second switching device (40) is arranged to conduct when the voltage across a capacitor (34) exceeds a reference voltage. A diode (46) is used to return excess energy to the DC source.
Abstract: A helmet supported optical system which provides an eye of a wearer (11 or 49) of a helmet (7 or 35) with a direct view of the scene forward of the wearer (11 or 49) on which is superimposed collimated optical imagery. The system comprises: an eyepiece (1 or 47a, 47b); means (5 or 37a, 37b, 39a, 39b, 41a, 41b, 43a, 43b) operable to develop a bright data representation at a plane (31or 44a, 44b) substantially congruent with the principal focal plane of an element (21 or 46a, 46b) of the eyepiece (1 or 47a, 47b); and, disposed between the means (5 or 37a, 37b, 39a, 39b, 41a, 41b, 43a, 43b) operable and the eyepiece (1or 47a, 47b), a body (3 or 45a, 45b) of light refractive material.
Abstract: A nested stack of pre-formed decorative bows are compactly packed and dispensed therefrom. Each bow has a plurality of curled free ribbon ends emanating from a central region. The curled ends of the bows engage and envelop one another, thereby minimizing "dead" space.
