  • Patent number: 4436967
Abstract: A telephone lock for telephones of the type having apertured caps, each forming an annular external groove between the respective cap and the handset, includes a locking cup mountable over either or both of the caps, and a locking arrangement which includes a stationary locking element extending into the groove, and a movable locking element mounted on the locking cup for displacement between a retracted position and a locked position in which the movable locking element is located exteriorly of the groove and extends into the groove, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4280292
Abstract: A manipulatable toy puppet is supportable on a human torso and also on a display support in a manner which resembles the torso-supported puppet. The puppet's arms are detachably secured around the manipulator's neck by Velcro-type fasteners, and the puppet's legs are secured about the manipulator's waist by an adjustable elastic band. The puppet figure is made of a soft plush-covered material to simulate animal fur. The display support has a humanoid-like portion which resembles the upper part of a human, and an arm support portion which resembles the upraised human forearm. Hence, the body of the puppet can be supported on the arm support portion, and the puppet's arms and legs can be mounted on the display in a manner which simulates the hugging-type pose in which the puppet is supported on a human being.

  • Patent number: 4269413
Abstract: A pinball game is provided having two pairs of flippers, each pair being coordinately actuated by the pulling of a spring-biased lever toward the user. A spring-loaded ball projecting mechanism is provided operatively coupled by a ratchet to a ball counting device. The ball projecting mechanism is released by displacement of a lever to project the ball and index the ball counting device.

  • Patent number: 4152407
Abstract: Exothermic reaction of a fluid stream is carried out with recycle and addition of hot reacted fluid to the colder feed fluid stream, so as to raise the feed fluid stream to operable reaction temperatures and produce optimum reaction rate. The addition of hot reacted fluid is carried out by reactor-internal ejector-effected aspiration of a portion of the hot reacted fluid discharged from the reaction zone into the cold feed fluid. The resulting combined fluid stream is passed to the reaction zone. The balance of the hot reacted fluid not aspirated into the cold feed fluid is passed to product recovery or utilization. The invention is especially applicable to exothermic catalytic reactions.

  • Patent number: 4137692
Abstract: A system for metering and film packaging of bitumen and like materials that are solid at room temperature and molten liquid when heated. The packaging film is thermoplastic, having a melting point not exceeding the temperature of molten bitumen. The material of the packaging film in liquid form is compatible with bitumen without deleteriously affecting the characteristics of the bitumen. In the system, bitumen in a hot molten state is pumped at a filling station into empty molds that are lined with release material. The fluid bitumen is metered at the filling station to supply a predetermined quantity in each mold. The filled molds are conveyed through a lengthy cooling station that may include a water bath and after a suitable time, e.g. 2 to 4 hours, the bitumen solidifies into slabs.

  • Patent number: 4138517
Abstract: An ornamented article of clothing constituting a fabric substrate which forms at least a part of an article of clothing has applied to it in a pattern, with the aid of a stencil, an area of predetermined configuration such as a design, a character or a phrase in the form of an adhesive coating composed of a film-forming solid and a liquid solvent. The adhesive coating bonds to the substrate as by permeation into interstices thereof so that when the coating dries it will firmly adhere thereto. While the coating still is wet there are applied to the coating particles composed of a plastic material which is attackable by one or more constitutents of the still-wet adhesive, specifically the solvent or a plasticizer incorporated in the plastic solid. This attack on the surfaces of the particles causes the particles to bond to the adhesive coating.
