Abstract: A method for performing buffer status reporting (BSR) in a user equipment of a wireless communication system comprises forming a MAC PDU comprising a padding field with a size smaller than a first predefined value, selecting a first logic channel group from a plurality of logic channel groups of the user equipment according to priorities and data amounts of uplink buffers of the plurality of logic channel groups, carrying information about a data amount of an uplink buffer of the first logic channel group with a short-format BSR control element, and carrying the short-format BSR control element with the padding field of the MAC PDU for a network of the wireless communication system.

Abstract: In order to enhancing system efficiency of radio resource control, the present invention provides a method for a user equipment in a wireless communications system for improving functions of continuous packet connectivity. The method includes configuring a first HS-PDSCH code of a user equipment according to a variable “HS-PDSCH Code Index” of an information element “HS-SCCH Less Information” before the user equipment activates an HS-SCCH less operation, and configuring a second HS-PDSCH code of the user equipment according to a Boolean variable of the information element “HS-SCCH Less Information”, wherein the Boolean variable is indicated by one bit and the second HS-PDSCH code is an adjacent channel code of the first HS-PDSCH code.

Abstract: A method of comparing a state variable or a sequence number, hereinafter called SN, of a packet with modulus arithmetic for a receiving terminal of a wireless communications system includes determining an SN range of a receiving window and using a minimum SN of the receiving window as a modulus base for a duplicate avoidance and reordering, hereinafter called DAR, entity and a reception buffer when a DAR function is configured; determining an SN range of a storage window and using a minimum SN of the storage window as the modulus base when an out of sequence packet delivery function is configured; and using an SN of the latest packet received by the reception buffer plus a first predetermined value as the modulus base when neither the out of sequence packet delivery function nor the DAR function is configured.

Abstract: A method and system for determining a probability of inferring an unknown attribute value for an attribute of interest for a target node in a social network. The method comprises the steps of receiving as an input attribute values and link relationships for a plurality of additional nodes in the social network, creating a simplified network using the input values and relationships, and calculating the probability of inferring the unknown attribute value for the target node.

Abstract: A disc jockey music-based video game with a controller for the same. The disc jockey music-based video game presents instructive cues for manipulation of the controller and evaluates game player's performance based on the player's compliance with the instructive cues. A display with visual indicators of instructive cues and visual indicators representing player performance may be provided. Additionally, other forms of game player feedback may be provided, for example music, simulated crowd response other forms of generally auditory cues.

Abstract: Method and system a first network node communicating with a second network node using a plurality of network links grouped as a trunk is provided. The method includes determining a peak data transfer rate for the trunk during a monitoring duration; comparing the peak data transfer rate to a threshold data transfer rate for the trunk; determining if one or more of the plurality of network links can be deactivated or activated; and based on the determination, activating or deactivating one or more of the plurality of network links.

Abstract: An exercise apparatus including a video display. In certain embodiments the apparatus includes an integrated platform. Memory within the apparatus contains a library of instructional exercise programs, such as yoga, Pilates, body toning and stretching routines. The apparatus may also connect to a network, such as the Internet to stream and/or download additional exercise programs. A user interface enables the user to select from available programs, which are shown on the video display. Audio for the programs may be provided via speakers or though headphones, which may be rechargeable and/or wireless.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for the automated adjustment of the position of a cutting tool when cutting dental aligner material includes using a computer for generating digital data that define (a) a first cutting angle in a labial cutting area along a dynamic cutting curve, (b) a second cutting angle in a lingual cutting area along the dynamic cutting curve, and (c) a third cutting angle in a back molar cutting area along the dynamic cutting curve. The cutting tool is automatically moved from the labial cutting area to the back molar cutting area while gradually increasing a cutting tool angle from the first cutting angle to the third cutting angle. The cutting tool is also automatically moved from the lingual cutting area to the back molar cutting area while gradually increasing the cutting tool angle from the second cutting angle to the third cutting angle.

Abstract: Apparatus for detaching, separating and collecting organic materials having different density; especially liver from fish entrails, which comprises a tank furnished with water or salt water and encasing a conveyor with carrier plates oriented across the direction of movement of the conveyor, and further is provided with an inlet and an outlet for the organic material. The tank also has detaching tools which comprises a stationary part and a movable part. The stationary part comprises a bracket plate with a curved cutting surface extending away from a free cutting edge of the bracket. The movable part comprises at least one detaching tool/knife, which moves or rotates along the cutting edge and is oriented in a small angle or no angle to the edge, wherein the curve form of the surface is in conformity with the path of the knife/knives; and further has synchronizing device which allow a knife to pass by the cutting edge simultaneously with one of the carriers passing by on the opposite end of the cutting edge.

Abstract: A music based video game in which a game player's singing performance is digitally sampled while the player performs a free-form vocal over a prerecorded musical composition. Aspects of the game player's free-form vocal performance are compared with predetermined criteria. For example, the vocal performance may be compared with tempo and key information to generate performance evaluation data. The performance evaluation data may be used to present performance feedback to the game player while the game player is singing.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for making an ophthalmic lens. The present methods and systems are effecting in coupling two mold sections together at two or more discrete regions. Embodiments of the methods and systems form a bore that extends completely through one of the mold sections and only partially through the other mold section. During formation of the bore, the mold material in proximity to the bore being foamed becomes molten and diffuses from the bore. A portion of the molten mold material is provided at a contact point between the two mold sections and when the molten material cools, the material foams a spot weld between the mold sections. By foaming multiple hollow spot welds in a mold assembly, the two mold sections can be securely coupled to each other during the manufacture of an ophthalmic lens, such as a silicone hydrogel contact lens.

Abstract: A method of interfolding gloves including superposing finger portion of second glove adjacent finger portion of first glove, with second glove finger portion being disposed parallel and in a direction opposite the first glove finger portion, in a superjacent opposing relationship. First glove hand and cuff are lapped over second glove finger to create lapped, superjacent opposing fold. By repeatedly lapping previous glove hand over subsequent glove fingers, a glove bundle is formed. Folding can be longitudinal before lapped, superjacent opposing folding. Gloves are disposed in portable dispenser with lapped, superjacent folding and dispensing opening cooperating to dispense one glove, cuff first.

Abstract: Method and system for incremental backup of data containers with fixed length records is provided. Initially, a backup application copies all stored data containers to create an initial backup container. A data structure corresponding to the first backup operation is also created. The data structure maintains unique file identifiers for each data container and information regarding when a record was added. The data structure is created and maintained by an application that also creates, updates, and modifies the fixed length records. The application updates the base data structure when records are added to a data container, after the initial backup. For a next backup operation, the initial data structure is compared to an updated data structure that is current at the next backup time. The comparison identifies the new records that were added (or updated) since the initial backup operation. The backup application then incrementally copies the new records.

Abstract: A method for polling transmission status in a wireless communications system includes determining whether a buffer of a transmitter contains at least a packet that has been transmitted, has not been discarded, and has not yet been acknowledged when there is no packet scheduled for transmission or retransmission while a polling procedure is triggered and is not prohibited, selecting a packet in order to transmit a poll, and scheduling the selected packet for retransmission.

Abstract: A method for enhancing data transmission efficiency in a wireless communications system includes using a first receiving window and a second receiving window in a receiver side of an entity operating in Acknowledgement Mode, wherein the first receiving window provides a function of Automatic Retransmission Request and the second receiving window is utilized for detecting missing Sequence Numbers.

Abstract: A method for improving a reordering functionality in a wireless communications system comprises configuring a reset timer, utilized for controlling the reset of a reordering functionality of a protocol entity, reassembling all received protocol data units in the protocol entity with previously stored protocol data unit segments, and discarding all protocol data unit segments that cannot be reassembled in the protocol entity.

Abstract: In order to avoid unknown behavior of a user equipment, the present invention provides a method of improving Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request, known as HARQ, operation for a network in a wireless communications system. The method includes adding a HARQ information information element, abbreviated to IE, and a Multi-Input Multi-Output, known as MIMO, parameters IE into a radio resource control message, wherein the radio resource control message is used by the network to assign, replace or release a physical channel used by the user equipment, and transmitting the radio resource control message to the user equipment.

Abstract: Cap adapters for a medicament vial configured to facilitate the transfer of liquid medicament from the vial and into a syringe. In one embodiment the cap adapter comprises a wall portion with a first lumen passing through it. A vial-engaging portion secures the cap adapter to the vial. A spike extends from the wall portion and defines a second lumen passing through the wall portion. A cone-shaped shield extends from the first lumen. The shield is configured to guide a hypodermic needle toward the first lumen to thereby reduce a risk of needlestick to a user handling the vial. In certain embodiments, a light source cooperates with the cap adapter to illuminate at least a portion of the cap adapter to reduce a risk of needlestick to a user handling the vial in a darkened environment. In certain embodiments, a secondary sealing member abuts a first face of the wall portion and seals an end of the first lumen.

Abstract: In a communication arrangement in accordance with the invention, a server is employed to collect and organize information for mobile device users according to the user profiles, e.g., personal profile, business profile, vacation profile, etc., which reflect different user personae. By using this arrangement, the user advantageously maintains only the necessary information in the mobile device and downloads any additional information from the server on an as needed basis. In addition, the server is capable of serving mobile devices which may be incompatible to one another, thereby facilitating an exchange of information between such devices. Moreover, with the server, incoming messages for the user are organized and stored according to the source of the messages and the user criteria established in the user profiles.

Abstract: A communications device utilized in a wireless communications system has an RLC entity with a transmitting side and a receiving side. Handling timers during re-establishment of the receiving side includes only re-establishing the receiving side in the RLC entity of the communications device, stopping a first timer corresponding to the receiving side, and prolonging and not stopping a second timer corresponding to the transmitting side.
