Abstract: A method of managing the production of tickets in accordance with a ticket order submitted to a ticketing services bureau by a customer includes an optional step of producing a physical ticket proof for the customer prior to execution of the ticket order. Preferably, the physical ticket proof is generated using a plateless printing press, such as a digital printing press, but has the print characteristics of a particular plate-based press platform which is designated to execute the ticket order. A process for accurately matching the color characteristics of the digital printing press with the color characteristics of a plate-based press platform includes the steps of calibrating the plate-based press platform to meet a particular printing standard, creating an International Color Consortium (ICC) profile for the designated plate-based press platform, applying the ICC profile to the digital printing press, and managing the color formulation properties of the digital printing press.

Abstract: Described is a method for detecting 5-methylcytosine in genomic DNA samples. First, a genomic DNA from a DNA sample is chemically converted with a reagent, 5-methylcytosine and cytosine reacting differently, and the pretreated DNA is subsequently amplified using a polymerase and at least one primer. In the next step, the amplified genomic DNA is hybridized to at least one oligonucleotide, forming a duplex, and said oligonucleotide is elongated by at least one nucleotide, the nucleotide carrying a detectable label, and the elongation depending on the methylation status of the specific cytosine in the genomic DNA sample. In the next step, the elongated oligonucleotides are analyzed for the presence of the label.

The support has a plurality of cylindrical pores extending perpendicularly between opposing top and bottom surfaces of the support. The pores, which preferably have a diameter of about 0.1 to 5 microns, are made by plasma etching and preferably are arranged in a defined pattern, for example, with fewer pores located in areas of high membrane stress and more pores located in areas of low membrane stress. The pores are filled with a first solid polymer electrolyte, such as a perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) polymer. A second solid polymer electrolyte, which may be the same as or different than the first solid polymer electrolyte, may be deposited over the top and/or bottom of the first solid polymer electrolyte.

Abstract: A cable tie includes a locking head and an attached strap, the locking head being adapted to receive and engage the strap when the tie is formed into a closed loop. The cable tie additionally includes a fir-tree fastener connected to the locking head by an elongated standoff that includes a stem and an enlarged member which separates the stem into first and second sections. In use, a plurality of wires bundled together by the tie can be secured to an automotive valve cover by inserting the fastener and the first section of the stem through a corresponding bore formed in the valve cover. With tie inserted as such, the second section of the stem serves to space the bundled wires away from the valve cover, with the first section of the stem and the enlarged member together serving to stabilize the tie within the bore of the valve cover.
Abstract: A system for managing the production of retail tickets in accordance with a ticket order includes a ticketing services bureau that receives the ticket order and a print center that prints tickets in accordance with the ticket order. The system additionally includes a client connected to the ticketing services bureau via the internet. As part of an interactive ticket proofing process prior to the execution of the ticket order, the client electronically retrieves an on-screen proof and, if necessary, dynamically modifies the on-screen proof in real time. As one feature of the invention, the ticketing services bureau converts size information in the ticket order into a corresponding color element in the on-screen proof. As another feature of the invention, the client can optionally receive a physical ticket sample prior to execution of the ticket order, the ticket sample being generated by a digital press using the tentatively approved on-screen proof.

Abstract: A cable tie includes a serrated strap which is fitted to an apertured head. In use, the cable tie can be formed into closed loop around an electrical harness cable by inserting the serrated strap through the apertured head. The cable tie additionally includes a fastener which can be used to secure an unattached electrical connector securely against the electrical harness cable. The fastener comprises a rectangular platform that includes a convex outer wall and a flat inner wall that are partially separated by a transverse slot. The platform is shaped to define a pair of opposing, inwardly extending notches which enable the platform to be slid into engagement with corresponding railings formed on the electrical connector. A ratchet-shaped tooth is formed on the convex outer wall to engage a corresponding pawl formed on the electrical connector to lockably retain the fastener coupled to the electrical connector.
