  • Patent number: 4967328
Abstract: A rubber ring disposed snugly over the glass envelope of a lamp and slid against a larger cylindrical lamp body centers and spaces the lamp within a reflector hole by positioning the ring within a counterbore recess in a back surface of the reflector concentric with the hole. The height of the ring is greater than the depth of the counterbore recess to space the lamp body away from the back surface of the reflector. A rubber strip is disposed between the opposite end of the lamp body and a housing member, the strip and ring being compressed in assembly to resiliently support the lamp, absorbing vibration and shock forces imparted to the lamp through the housing.

  • Patent number: 4964643
Abstract: A planar surface game board is divided into orthogonal quadrants and subdivided diagonally. The quadrants are hinged together along contiguous edges at a first surface and the diagonal subdivision is hinged together at a second surface, permitting the board to be folded or collapsed inwardly of the first surface wherein diagonally divided segments collapse adjacent each other between square quadrant segments to form a folded board one-fourth its original surface size and four times its thickness. The hinges may be formed by scoring the respective surfaces without completely severing the board, leaving thin webs of material as hinges.

  • Patent number: 4951021
Abstract: A linear acting ball latch is released by a rotary latch release member in the form of a rotor for a high torque, short stroke rotary electric motor which is electrically energized through a capacitor discharge system to release the latched member for spring biased movement into engagement with a bridging contact, thereby forcing the contact open from stationary contacts. A clapper type armature drives the contacts between open and closed positions through tubes, one of which extends through the latch mechanism. The tubes have spring biased plungers connected with the movable contact member to provide a low gradient spring force to the contacts permitting separation by the latch tube assembly and providing contact pressure when the magnetic operator closes the contacts. A manually operable handle and reset cam are disposed over the rotary latch mechanism and have mechanical connection with the latch release rotor to provide for manual operation of the release and for manual resetting of the latch mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4944908
Abstract: A printed circuit is formed by conventional methods over an adhesive coating applied to a flexible high temperature withstandability disposable backing to form a flexible laminate which is positioned in a cavity of an injection mold to conform to surface variations. The printed circuit conductors are surrounded on three sides by molten plastic material injected into the mold cavity to embed the conductors in the respective surfaces of the molded plastic article, which surfaces are non-coplanar and adjoining and the conductors are continuous from one surface to the other. The bond strength of the adhesive is preferably high with regard to the backing and low with regard to the printed circuit conductors to permit adhesive and backing to be peeled away after molding, thereby providing a three diemensional printed circuit in, for example, a recessed area of a molded plastic housing part of electrical apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4937704
Abstract: Rejection of a twin circuit breaker at panelboard mounting positions not designated to receive a twin breaker is achieved by extending the hook of the twin breaker outwardly beyond the panelboard rail to prevent anchoring the outboard end of the twin breaker at non-designated positions, thereby indicating obviously improper installation. The rail is provided with outward extensions at designated mounting positions which do engage with the twin breaker hook to anchor the outboard end, such extension in a preferred embodiment being part of an adapter attached to the panelboard.

  • Patent number: 4937705
Abstract: A U-shaped or O-shaped metal strap (20, 30-32, 34) is attached in a belt-like manner around the insulating housing (2, 2') of a DC speed control switch to provide an external heat sink for a FET (22, 36) attached to the heat sink. Bosses (2f, 2h, 2g) on the switch housing project into holes (20e, 20b-32b, 34h, 34g) in the heat sink to position the heat sink on the housing. Formed terminal conductors on the FET plug into press-in terminations on the switch. A pair of mirror image battery clips (16) are trapped against opposite sides of the switch housing by the heat sink and an interposed insulator (18), the clips having cooperatively aligned depending legs (16e) forming battery terminal clips, and formed prongs (16c) that plug into press-in wire terminations on the switch. Holes (16d) in body portions of the battery clips surround bosses (2e) on the sides of the switch housing to interlock the clips against lateral movement.

  • Patent number: 4937460
Abstract: An optoelectronic triangulation sensor mounted adjacent a path of travel of a material web or individual paper sheets has a pivotable lever biased toward a fixed reference platen to bias the article(s) against the platen. The sensor light source is focused on a target carried on the back of the lever and reflected to a position-sensitive detector (e.g. lateral-effect photo-diode), the output of which varies in an analog signal in direct proportion to displacement of the lever. A relatively wide included angle between light source and PSD receiver shortens the range of the sensor and eliminates a need for pulse modulated light. The current driving the light source is monitored to emit a signal when the light source current exceeds a threshold, signaling the need for maintenance on the sensor such as cleaning the lens.

  • Patent number: 4874911
Abstract: A double pole, double throw rocking contactor switch is operable as a reversing switch by particularly configured stationary contacts at the corresponding ends of the respective poles. Stationary contacts are formed electrically common out of a single member having the stationary contact of one pole formed to be disposed below the rocking contactor and the stationary contact of the other pole formed to be disposed above its respective contactor. Accordingly, one contactor engages the upper surface of a stationary contact while the other end of the other contactor engages the under surface of the opposite stationary contact for a given stable position of the actuator, thereby causing the respective contactors to engage stationary contacts at respective opposite ends of the contactors, accomplishing the reversing function internally of the switch without special cross connect conductors, thereby permitting press-in wire terminations to be utilized.

  • Patent number: 4834704
Abstract: A two-stage injection device has a resiliently expandable medication reservoir stored in collapsed state within the cannula. After inserting the cannula through the skin into an animal cavity, depression of a first stage element injects the reservoir out the cannula into the cavity. Depression of a second stage element fills the reservoir with fluid medication, elastically expanding the reservoir. The injection apparatus is withdrawn, leaving the reservoir implanted in the cavity, continuously infusing medication for a period up to hundreds of days through a restrictor orifice under the pressure of the elastically stretched walls of the reservoir.
