  • Patent number: 4355347
Abstract: A temperature control device is provided which comprises a thermostatic control means. The thermostatic control means is for automatically controlling the temperature of a location to a predetermined temperature. A means is additionally provided for setting the predetermined temperature. The means for setting includes an elongated temperature scale and a set point. The scale and set point are movable with respect to each other. The set point indicates the predetermined temperature on the scale. The scale has associated therewith different colors along the periphery thereof. A means for illuminating the temperature scale near the set point is provided to reveal the color associated with the predetermined temperature. Thus an observer of the temperature control device, knowing the colors associated with the temperatures or knowing the colors at which he is most comfortable, can immediately observe from a distance the predetermined temperature at which the device is set.

  • Patent number: 4342410
Abstract: A combination hand gun holster and belt is provided. The combination comprises a holster having inner and outer side panels which assist in forming a tapering configuration for conformably receiving a hand gun. The holster has an open end for insertion and withdrawal therethrough of the gun. The belt is attached to the inner side panel of the holster and suspends the holster on one side of the waist of a person. A retaining member is provided having first and second ends. The member is attached at the first end to the outer side panel of the open end of the holster. A means is provided for detachably mounting the second end of the retaining member to the belt. Thus when the retaining member is mounted to the belt the hand gun is safely retained in the holster and cannot be withdrawn therefrom. A release means is provided which is attached to the belt for automatically detaching the retaining member from the belt.

  • Patent number: 4334460
Abstract: A cap for a chimney is provided. The cap comprises a heat resistant cover, having a topside and an underside, extending across the chimney in superposed and spaced relation thereto. A support means is attached to the underside of the cover for supporting the cover in superposed and predetermined spaced relation above the chimney. A plurality of adjustable detachable mounting means are attached to the support means for detachably mounting the cover to the chimney. The mounting means are adjustable to accommodate the opening in the chimney. A particular advantage of this cap is that it can be easily installed in variously sized chimneys, and is of simple and inexpensive construction. • Patent number: 4250833
Abstract: An entomological apparatus is provided to facilitate the observation and study of insects, e.g. ants. The apparatus is comprised of a first substantially transparent enclosure having inner and outer surfaces. Preferably this transparent enclosure is a sphere. The apparatus is further comprised of a second enclosure, preferably a hemisphere including a planar wall. This second enclosure is within the first enclosure. The second enclosure has inner and outer surfaces. A portion of the outer surface of the second enclosure and a portion of the inner surface of the first enclosure form an environmental chamber for observing insects. In the preferred embodiment the environmental chamber is formed by maintaining the spherical first enclosure concentric with the hemispherical second enclosure. The apparatus is further comprised of an access means through the first enclosure for enabling placement of insects and environmental elements within the first enclosure.
