Abstract: A method for generating a ring tone for a given caller based on a prior conversation with that caller. A portion of a conversation with a given caller is recorded and stored in memory as a ring tone. When a subsequent call is received from the same caller, identified by caller ID, the ring tone is played, alerting the user to the incoming call as well as the context of their prior communication. In alternative embodiments of the invention, a prior textual or video conversation is used as the basis for a ring tone, and/or the ‘ring tone’ is delivered by other than audio means. The invention is capable of implementation in telecommunications systems such as cellular, local exchange, and VOIP, and in combination with other forms of internet-based telecommunication.
Abstract: A flat, ribbon-like headphone cable having a unitary cable section, a splitter, and two split cable sections for connection to earpieces. The unitary and split cable sections each have substantially flat cross-sections wherein the width is substantially greater than the thickness. The split cable sections are oriented such that their widths are substantially perpendicular to the width of the unitary cable section.
Abstract: The invention relates to a transconductance amplifier, intended to supply current variations di when it receives voltage variations dv, with a desired conversion coefficient Gm called transconductance: Gm=di/dv. The amplifier comprises a PMOS transistor (MP1) and an NMOS transistor (MP2) connected by their drains, their gates both being connected to the voltage input receiving dv; the source of the first transistor is connected to a constant current source (IB1) and to a resistor (R) and to the drain of a third MOS transistor (MN3) of the same type as the first; the sources of the second (MN2) and third (MN3) transistors are commoned, the gate of the third transistor being connected to the drains of the first and second; the output is connected to a circuit (MN4) which mirrors the current of the third transistor. The resulting amplifier has good linearity and can be used in a sample and hold device used to sample charges.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a radar device for maritime surveillance, intended to be installed on a vehicle moving at very high altitude, generally on a satellite. The invention consists more precisely in a partial synthetic aperture radar with a low repetition frequency, making it possible to provide quality maritime surveillance and guaranteeing good performance in terms of target detection probability and ability to process vast maritime expanses.
Abstract: An integrated printed circuit board-based solid state line voltage interface for use in automation control system applications. Relays connect various functional loads to the line level source in response to input from a controller unit. Switches enable a user to override the controller and manually control the connection of the functional loads. An alternative embodiment further includes limit switches and time delays. The compact nature of the device facilitates ease of installation, mounting of multiple units in less space, and mounting in various specialized location as desired.
Abstract: The invention relates to a transconductance amplifier, providing current variations di=k·dv when it receives voltage variations dv. The amplifier comprises a first MOS transistor (MN4) whose drain provides differential currents (I?di, I+di). It comprises an output stage having a second transistor (MP5) of a type opposite to the first, whose source is linked to the drain of the first, whose gate is biased at a constant potential (Vref), and whose drain receives the current variations which are provided by the first transistor and which must be applied to a sampling capacitor.
Abstract: A device for connecting a personal audio/video player to a vehicle equipped with a FM radio. The device connects to the lighter/DC connector of the vehicle with a power block 1 to provide a source of power for the player and recharges the internal battery of the player. The device also connects to docking receptacles of a personal audio player with a receive port 6 allowing unattenuated sound and recharging connection. A wire 4 serves as an antenna for a FM transmitter 3 to make a wireless connection to the vehicle radio.
Abstract: The invention proposes a new aeraulic cooling design for ARINC series 600 computers. Using a network of ducts (N) and holes (HM) on an intermediate plate (M) situated just above the bottom place (B) through which a stream of cool air (AF) is injected into said computer (C), the present invention makes it possible to effectively cool the dissipative areas and the identified hot spots on the electronic modules (E) that it contains.
Abstract: A side-entry stemmed glassware rack for storing and displaying stemmed glassware. Stemmed glassware is hung in the conventional, inverted manner except that the base of the glassware is inserted into a main track of the rack the via an intersecting side track rather than only from one or both ends of the main track.
Abstract: The invention relates to a photonic crystal circuit comprising a guide produced in a photonic crystal membrane on the surface of a substrate and a mode adapter coupled to said guide, wherein the membrane includes a central point constituting the mode adapter having a section gradient as termination of said guide, said point being suspended so as to allow the propagation of modes in a symmetrical manner. It also relates to an optical system incorporating said circuit coupled to an optical fiber.
