    Abstract: A stored logic Boolean function generator having a control word storage coupled to a control block for selectively configuring the control block into logic circuits for simulating either a logical AND circuit or a logical OR circuit for operating on binary signals. At least two external addressable binary signal stores are coupled to the control block. The two external addressable stores alternately and oppositely serve as source and destination storage devices for binary signals which are operated upon by the control block. One of the addressable stores serves as a source of binary signals which are supplied to the control block and operated upon by the logical circuit simulated therein. The results of the logical manipulation are stored in the other of the externally addressable stores which thus serves as a destination storage device.

    Abstract: A high speed sheet stacking device for stacking documents on edge as they are serially ejected from a sheet transport apparatus into preselected sorting pockets. A pair of spaced-apart paddle wheels coaxially disposed subjacent to the pocket are rotatively driven through apertures formed therein, displacing the documents to the back side of the pocket in a serially stacked arrangement. The paddles remain outside of the pocket until advanced in rotative steps of 90.degree. responsive to the passing of a document past a predetermined point enroute to the stacking pocket. A thin wire spring secured to the outer end of each paddle aids in displacing the documents during stacking and remains bent through the pocket floor in holding contact against the stacked sheets after the rotative stepping is completed.

    Abstract: Described is a transducer head assembly for magnetic disk files, the assembly using the informational data itself recorded on the disk in the form of a plurality of annular tracks for precisely positioning the head assembly with respect to the individual tracks. For this purpose, the assembly includes an upper head cooperable with the upper face of the record disk and a lower head cooperable with the lower face of the record disk, the lower head being spaced from the upper head one-half the distance between a pair of adjacent tracks such that one head may be used for positioning purposes by centering same between two adjacent tracks on the respective face of the disk, while the other head being thereby centered with a track on its respective face of the disk, may be used for recording, reproducing or erasing data with respect to the later track.

    Abstract: Electrical control circuitry for driving a rotational print head to initiate an endorsement on a single side of paper checks traveling past the print head at a relatively constant velocity, including a bistable device operatively connected to control a ramp generator for accelerating the print head at a relatively constant rate from a stopped position to a present printing velocity and then decelerating the print head to a rest state at the same relatively constant rate after completion of document endorsement. The circuitry responds to closely-spaced documents entering the endorser by interrupting the head during its deceleration mode and maintaining the head at its interrupted velocity for a certain time delay in order to reaccelerate the head back to printing velocity at the same relatively constant rate in time for proper endorsement.

    Abstract: An instrument flight training hood including a voltage-controlled, liquid crystal viewing lens operable to a first state of transparency when a wearer is viewing the instrument control panel of his aircraft and operable to a second state of opacity to instantaneously occlude viewing when wearer changes his line of vision outside of the aircraft. A uniform passageway recessed within the hood directionally communicates light received from an area of space substantially along the wearer's line of sight, to a photocell for lens state actuation responsive to a manually preset light intensity threshold. A manual switching arrangement permits maintenance of lens transparency to provide vertigo simulation capabilities upon flight landing approach whereby wearer changing his line of sight outside of the aircraft to occlude his viewing, and thereafter manually switching the lens to its transparent state enters a condition of vertigo.

Each shift register is clocked by a common set of clock phase electrodes.     Abstract: A laminar air flow passageway through which ink droplets are directed before striking a moving print medium, having a portion of the passageway contoured to expand toward the print medium for slowing a column of air passing therethrough before the column reaches the document. Air suction apertures located in the expanded portion of the passageway and near the print medium provide withdrawal of the airflow to prevent air buildup at the document interface and to maintain laminarity as the air slows. A separate embodiment includes a single air suction aperture located in the upper portion of a gently expanding air passsageway for airflow withdrawal.

    Abstract: An electronic package assembly having a plurality of gold-plated lead pins solderably secured within a corresponding array of pre-metalized, cylindrical-shaped holes disposed in a ceramic substrate of the package.
