  • Patent number: 7458410
Abstract: A joining assembly for “ganging” respective doors together such that by movement of one door causes the other doors to follow. A connecting plate and a spacer plate is screwed to the bottom of a primary door while the connecting plate includes a cam follower to ride in a groove in the bottom of a first secondary door. In this manner, both doors are “ganged” together. If other secondary doors are required to be joined with the previous two doors, a connecting angle plate is employed for securing to the secondary door so as to guide the third, fourth, etc. doors. A guide stop, hinge floor guide, and cam follower assembly is mounted to the last door in the multi-door series and the cam follower “tracks” in a floor guide hidden in a “pocket” when a storage pocket is employed in the installation. By ganging these doors, stability is imparted by the weight and mass of the doors.

  • Patent number: 7448421
Abstract: A wheel hub assembly having a rim, an outer cap and an inner body joined to the cap within the rim and carrying automatically extendable and retractable curved traction elements. The traction elements are curved pieces with inner end portions disposed on the inside of the tire when retracted and outer ends substantially concealed in gaps between the rim and the cap when retracted, and extendable into active positions overlying the tread of the tire by electric motors each driving two rack-and-pinion drives through T-drives between two traction elements. Channel-shaped tracks and guide rollers on the hub base support the fraction elements, which have traction-enhancing ribs and studs on their outer end portions. An alternative embodiment has a hollow annular hub body on which the traction elements are mounted and guided, in two circular slots, with the motors inside the annular body, the body being supported on a framework to be bolted to the central hub element of a conventional wheel.

  • Patent number: 7430526
Abstract: A method of conducting sales over the computer internet where the prices of the merchandises are dynamic functions of time instead of static rational numbers. In one embodiment, this method and system is a free market place that's able to conduct single-unit or multiple-unit sales of products and services from multiple sellers. In this market place, negotiation of the price does not require either side to make arbitrary offers, and further, with a large pool of prospect buyers, the true, current market value of the on sale products and services can be automatically reflected and updated through the purchases made.

  • Patent number: 7389873
Abstract: A device for severing syringe needles and storing the same for later disposal includes a lower box portion with a substantially flat bottom hinged to an upper lid portion, and a guillotine-like mechanism and an adjacent diaphragm spanning the two portions of an opposing side of the device. The guillotine preferably includes an angled blade in cross section such that when the needle is cut it is projected further through the diaphragm and into the device. The overall configuration and severing operation is in some ways akin to that of a stapler, in that a used syringe needle is inserted into a small gap between the two portions, and the top pushed down operating the guillotine to remove and retain the needle.

  • Patent number: 7384564
Abstract: Electrolytic process combines disinfection with removal of bromide from raw water. Current is applied to the electrodes in an electrolytic cell with raw water that has some salinity as the electrolyte. The electrodes consist of silver or dimensionally stable anodes (DSA) as cathodes and dimensionally stable anodes (DSA) arranged in parallel baffling fashion. During electrolysis chloride is converted to chlorine. The chlorine immediately effects disinfection of the water and reduction of bromide ions to bromine gas which is liberated from the cell. Aqueous bromine will remain in solution as hypobromous acid. The extent of chlorine generation and bromide loss depend upon the chloride:bromide ratio, electrical energy supplied for electrolysis, ionic strength of the water, electrode distance, cell residence time and electrode material.

  • Patent number: 7337904
Abstract: A package for dispensing pourable solid product includes a box having a pair of heart-shaped sides and a moveable slide for selectively opening and closing the product dispensing opening in the bottom portion of the box. Preferably the moveable slide is hingedly connected to an actuation panel extending down a side of the box. The package further preferably includes a wrapping applied to the box with a tear-away portion covering only the opening and slide, such that the tear away portion can be removed and the remainder of the wrapping stays in place decorating the box. Preferably and to great cost advantage, the box is formed from a single blank sheet of paper cardboard stock.

  • Patent number: 7324340
Abstract: A self contained laptop computer cooling pad that does not require any electrical power to operate and will effectively and efficiently reduce the operating temperature of the computer and reduce the heat being transferred into the user's lap. The cooling pad contains a phase-changing compound such as sodium sulfate decahydrate, sodium carbonate decahydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate or sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate, and may be made of a soft, flexible material that will contain the phase-changing compound and prevent excess shifting within the cooling pad. The cooling pad is placed under the laptop computer when operating the computer to effectively transfer heat away from the computer by conduction and prevent passage onto the user. The cooling pad may be in the form of a sleeve to additionally provide padded storage for the computer when not in use.

  • Patent number: 7316530
Abstract: A motorcycle (or similar vehicle) transport tie-down system utilized an apparatus including a base track attachable to a truck or trailer bed and a pair of upright posts that adjustably engage the track, and each post has a longitudinal hole and one or more openings crossing the longitudinal hole. There is a rod member having an elongate body for insertion into the post longitudinal hole, and the rod has a number of projecting ribs and a cap portion to engage a motorcycle foot peg. There are further one or more latching or locking pins for insertion into the openings and engaging the rod between the ribs. Once the apparatus is erected, a motorcycle may be positioned on the bed over the track and the posts engaged to the track and moved adjacent the foot pegs. Then the rods engaged to the foot pegs and inserted into the posts, and the pins inserted into the posts thereby preventing movement of the motorcycle relative the bed for transport.

  • Patent number: 7305926
Abstract: A boat for traveling at speed across a body of water includes a center hull having a vee-shaped bottom with a center planing surface, and an opposing pair of sponsons or ski-like structures attached outboard of the center and extending substantially alongside the central hull. Importantly, the sponsons or skis each have a substantial opening such that large volumes of water are able to pass through in an outboard direction away from the boat, advantageously minimizing forces on the hull when there is substantial vertical downward movement of the boat. The boat is designed so that planing surfaces of the keel and sponsons operate beneath the surface of the water to lift the hull free and isolate it from the rough water surface.

  • Patent number: 7299824
Abstract: A multi-position fuel valve includes a main body having an enclosed chamber with a number of inlet ports and an outlet port and associated seats in the chamber. Disposed inside the chamber is a revolving rotor that is connected to a selector handle located outside the chamber. The rotor provides a possible passageway between each of the inlet ports and the outlet port. The handle can rotate a maximum 180 degrees, and the valve has a pair of inlet sections and three-positions with an “off” position approximately midway between the other two positions. A pair of balls are positioned in the rotor and lodge in the plurality of seats or elsewhere in the chamber. When this occurs a certain portion of the passageway is cut off meaning there is no fluid flow from at least one of inlet ports through the outlet port. A compression spring with opposing ends bearing against the balls maintains the balls lodged in the seats, and releasably fixes the position of the rotor and handle.

  • Patent number: 7243525
Abstract: A hand rivet squeezer with adjustable handles includes a riveting head body, and C-shaped anvil yoke and stationary and lever swing-arm handles attached to the body. A mechanical linkage inside the body converts pivoting forces applied to the lever swing-arm into axial forces applied to a plunger pushing it from inside the body into the C-shaped yoke. The preferred mechanical linkage is a rack-and-pinion type design or alternatively a cam between the lever swing arm and the plunger. The handles are adjustable such that their angle relative the rivet head body can be varied depending on the access available around a solid rivet to be installed. The handles are engaged or locked to the body but may be unlocked or slidably disengaged and pivoted up to 90 degrees relative the body.
