  • Patent number: 4174730
Abstract: A housing which can be employed equally for air service units such as a water separator, a pressure regulating valve and a filter/pressure reducer, includes a body member in the form of a cube having perpendicularly related first, second and third opposing sidewalls, the body member having a flow passage with an inlet and outlet thereof disposed co-axially and being respectively located in the first opposing sidewalls. A receiving chamber and valve seat are located in the path of the flow passage, and the bottom member has a bore for guiding the valve body of the pressure regulating valve or of the filter/pressure reducer for controlling flow through the passage as the valve body engages the valve seat. A bayonet connection union is located on one of the second opposing sidewalls for interconnection with a collector bowl of the water separator or of the filter/pressure reducer or for interconnection with a closure lid of the pressure regulating valve.

  • Patent number: 4174069
Abstract: A fluid dispenser has a discharge path outletting at a discharge orifice provided in a nozzle cap in engagement with a nipple surrounding a dispenser needle valve, the cap being adjustable axially of the needle valve so as to move an open ended swirl chamber, which surrounds the discharge orifice, relative to the needle valve into and out of engagement therewith. The fluid is emitted from the discharge orifice in a concentrated and linear pattern upon disengagement between the swirl chamber and the needle valve. Otherwise, upon movement of the cap until the needle valve plugs the open end of the swirl chamber, a shaped spray pattern is created through the discharge orifice. The orifice is defined by a circular wall and by a pair of opposed projections thereon, the projections extending inwardly of the orifice and having spaced apart ends so as to effect a substantially flat spray pattern through the orifice when movement of the cap toward the needle valve causes the valve to plug the swirl chamber end.

  • Patent number: 4173359
Abstract: Continuous superimposed webs are interlocked together along opposite marginal edges by sets of superimposed tongues provided in the webs which interengage to effect an interlock. Each set includes at least a pair of superimposed tongues disposed along a line forming an angle with an adjacent marginal edge so that one of the tongues is staggered relative to the other in the direction of feed of the webs through a web processing machine. Thus, during separation of the plies in the direction of feed the forwardmost superimposed tongues are separated before the rearwardmost tongues thereby avoiding simultaneous separation of the tongues and decreasing the resistance offered by the tongues upon ply separation.
