Abstract: Disclosed is method and apparatus including a tank in which shredded corrugate is immersed and shuffled in a solvent fluid capable of attacking and weakening the adhesive bonding the core ply from the liner plies; said corrugate being advanced from its entry point into the tank to an exit point therefrom at a timed rate to limit its absorption of the solvent fluid prior to its transfer to delaminating apparatus.

Abstract: A word processing system for Chinese type characters includes a keyboard with a generally standard key arrangement for encoding the characters in accordance with their basic stroke type and sequence. Up to eight basic stroke types may be employed, although a five stroke system is preferred. Recurrent code sequences of two, three, four and five strokes are identified. An "end of character" code may be generated with the space bar. Preferred sequences are assigned key positions so as to provide an ergonometrically efficient keyboard. Average typing speeds using the keyboard are comparable on a character/word basis to those for English.

Abstract: A manual tool suitable for driving nails into concrete or the like comprises an axially extended tube and a ram mounted for reciprocal movement therein, the ram having a handle at one end thereof. The diameter of the ram along its length is substantially less than that of the bore of the tube. The end of the ram remote from the handle is provided with a low friction means to space the ram from the walls of the tube. Typically the low friction spacing means comprises a plurality of ball bearings located respectively in a plurality of recesses formed in the radial surface of the ram.

Abstract: A telephone call restrictor which is suitable for use in a PABX installation with pulse dial telephones includes a load which may be selectively connectable across the central office lines so as to inhibit reception of pulse signals by the central office when connected. The restrictor includes a detector which provides an output to disconnect the load upon receipt of an access code dialed at the telephone. The restrictor will normally include a prohibited number detector which will be disabled by the output from the access code detector.

Abstract: A method particularly applicable to the slicing of friable meat products with a rotaty cutting blade comprises feeding the product forwardly when it is not in contact with the cutting blade, and arresting the feeding when the slicing is taking place, and apparatus therefor. Provision is made to make the first slice of a stack somewhat thicker than the remaining slices in order to act as a carrier for the stack.

Abstract: The extension cord reel set disclosed is comprised of a reel formed of two symmetrical halves; a housing also formed of two symmetrical shells within which the reel is rotatable and an extension cord having a female outlet molded onto one of its ends with all of the live elements embedded in the molding material; said outlet being trapped in operative position between the two halves of the reel which are then combined to complete the reel which is enclosed within the housing shells.

Abstract: A muffler wherein the shell comprises a metal sheet the ends of which are retained together in an interlocked joint has a shielding strip on the interior of the tube secured thereto in overlapping relation to the interlock. Preferably the sheet is a two ply, one end of the inner ply being retained in the joint, the other end forming the shielding strip, the edge of which is spot welded to the interior surface of the shell. The muffler is resistant to damage from back-fires.

Abstract: In a telephone restriction system having circuitry to interrupt the dialing sequence upon detection of a prohibited number, the improvement permitting the restriction system to be disabled by dialing an access code using a standard key set. An access code detector provides an output upon recognition of the access code; this output is used to disable the restriction system including the reset system normally associated therewith for a predetermined period of time to permit the central office line to be released and re-engaged so as to clear the access code therefrom.

Abstract: A single bladed rotary lawn mower comprises a toroidal cutting chamber of gradually increasing height over the cutting zone, and abruptly decreasing height adjacent the end thereof. A top discharge port and a side discharge port separate therefrom is provided, one or both of which may be optionally closed whereby the lawn mower may be used in mulching, rear bagging or side discharge operation as desired.

Abstract: A plug connector engageable with an electrical outlet comprising an insulating body encapsulating circuitry providing pathways for electrical current delivered by said connector to an associated power cord and having a deep, blind-end, socket for an elongated circuit breaker; there being a gap in said circuitry interrupting a said pathway with both terminals of the gap in position at the blind-end of said socket to be bridged by said circuit breaker.

Abstract: Low fat butter having good low temperature spreadability and an enhanced protein to fat ratio in comparison to natural butter is prepared from cream in a one step process wherein a small percentage of an emulsifier and a hydrocolloid are incorporated into the cream, and the resulting blend is chilled and worked in a swept surface heat exchanger whereby phase inversion without syneresis occurs. The blend is preferably homogenized and pasteurized prior to phase inversion, whereby the stability and keepability of the resulting product is improved.

Abstract: An artificial tree or the like having an improved holder for the branches thereof is disclosed. The branch holder comprises a support element such as a hub which can form or be attached to the trunk-forming member from which hub support arms extend radially outwardly for support of branches. Each of the support arms includes a bearing adjacent the juncture of the hub and the support arm for receiving therein a pivot element at the end of each branch to be supported therein. The bearing is accessible by way of a passageway which has a trap located therein, which trap is yieldable to permit entry of the pivot element of the branch and is resistant to withdrawal of the branch from the support arm. The configuration of the holder is particularly adapted for unipartite molding with thermoplastic materials in a simple draw die.

Abstract: Disclosed is apparatus for applying forces to a waste paper mixture to procure progressive fragmentation of the respective components thereof and harvesting of the resulting paper fragments at intervals when fragmentation of one component is virtually completed and fragmentation of the next commences.
