Abstract: A dispenser includes a holder/carrier for products of stick-like form to enable application of a wide variety of materials. A plurality of resilient/flexible barbs having spring-like properties extend into the holder/carrier for embedding into the received material. The barbs preclude dislodgment of the stick-like product which may occur due to vibration caused during shipment or subsequent use of the dispenser.

Abstract: A nickel-cobalt-manganese oxide monocrystal having a cubic spinel structure over a broad concentration range of manganese/cobalt/nickel, including the entire possible range of manganese to nickel ratios, provided that the resulting monocrystal has a cubic spinel structure. A flux method is described for producing the monocrystals. Also disclosed are sensors, based on the monocrystals, having desirable electrical properties In particular, the sensors of the present invention are highly accurate temperature sensors or thermistors having high sensitivity, good reproducibility and improved aging characteristics. Performance of a sensor based on the monocrystal permits the preparation of a thermistor standard which can be used to evaluate the performance of ceramic devices.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a hard tablet that can be stored, packaged and processed in bulk. Yet the tablet dissolves rapidly in the mouth of the patient with a minimum of grit. The tablet is created from an active ingredient mixed into a matrix of a non-direct compression filler and a relatively high lubricant content.

Abstract: Medical apparatus for synthetic view point imaging includes an instrument insertable into the body of a patient. Using tissue image information defining an image of the patient's body, and defining the position of the distal end of the instrument within the body, synthetic images of the patient's body are synthesized having a viewpoint with a defined spatial relationship to the distal end of the instrument based on the image information and the determined position of the instrument.
Abstract: Aqueous caffeine solutions containing a co-solubilizing agent selected from niacinamide, nicotinic acid and mixtures thereof present at a level up to the maximum concentration soluble in water and in a weight ratio to caffeine less than 1.50:1, wherein the caffeine is present up to the maximum level between about 2 and about 20 percent by weight that is water-soluble in combination with the co-solubilizing agent and the solution is buffered to a pH less than about 6. Methods for preparing the aqueous caffeine solutions of the present invention are also disclosed.
