Abstract: A method of treatment of a gas mixture which contains H2, H2S and possibly of other impurities, such as hydrocarbons. The treatment method is aimed at purifying the hydrogen mixture without incurring a overall pressure loss. The method according to the invention uses a device for pressure swing adsorption where the device includes an integrated compressor. In each adsorber of the device a pressure swing cycle is carried out which includes the steps of: adsorption, decompression, purge, and repressurization.

Abstract: In an integrated process for the production of synthesis gas, a partial oxidation unit and a steam methane reformer are used to convert natural gas or another fuel to first and second mixtures of at least carbon monoxide and hydrogen, only the first process consuming oxygen. Carbon dioxide derived from the second mixture is sent to the inlet of the first process to reduce the oxygen consumption. The first and optionally second mixtures may be used as synthesis gas for a process such as a Fischer Tropsch process.

Abstract: Silicon nitride film is formed on substrate by feeding trisilylamine and ammonia into a CVD reaction chamber that contains a substrate. The ammonia gas/trisilylamine gas flow rate ratio is set to a value of at least about 10 and/or the thermal CVD reaction is run at a temperature no greater than about 600° C. Silicon oxynitride is obtained by introducing an oxygen source gas into the CVD reaction chamber. This method avoids the production of ammonium chloride and/or the incorporation of carbonaceous contaminants which are detrimental to the quality of the deposited film.

Abstract: A method for producing a soldered joint between the metal balls present in either a ball grid array or a chip-scale package, and the receiving pads for a circuit printed on a substrate or the receiving pads of an integrated circuit. Solder cream or an adhesive flux is deposited on the receiving pads, which then have metal balls are placed on them so as to form an assembly. The assembly is placed in an oven so as to heat the metal balls above their melting point. The balls are then cooled at a rate around 5° C./sec, so that the balls remain in their liquid state for a time period between 20 seconds to 65 seconds.

Abstract: Process for purifying or separating a gas or gas mixture using a monolithic adsorbent for the separation or purification of gases or gas mixtures, having a cellular structure with open porosity in the form of a solid foam permeable to the gas molecules. The gas phase of the adsorbent possesses an essentially convex structure and the solid phase an essentially concave structure. The solid foam has a density of greater than or equal to 500 kg/m3 and an open porosity of between 20 and 60%. The gas is air or an H2/CO mixture. The process is of the VSA, PSA or TSA type. This process can be used in particular in OBOGS-type systems to supply passengers of the vehicle or a device participating in the traction of the vehicle and/or in its electrical supply, in particular a fuel cell. This process can also be used in medical oxygen concentrators.

Abstract: Devices for filling portable gas containers and, more specifically, devices to facilitate usage of portable gas cylinders in accordance with the safety criteria for a wide range of gases and commercial applications. The present invention provides a gas supply device to fill a portable container with an electronic label attached. The gas supply device includes a read device, and a control unit. When the portable container is connected to the device and to a gas source, the read device reads the electronic label, thus allowing a control unit to then control the supply of gas to the portable container based on the information encoded by radio frequency induction in the electronic label.

Abstract: A welding machine with a power source and an inverter. The inverter has at least one switching leg, made up of switches in series, and an output terminal. The power source has a circuit for controlling the switches by delivering an on-signal or and off-signal. The power source also has a transformer linked to a rectifier. The power source also has a circuit for detecting the voltage that the terminals of each switch of the inverter. A pilot circuit is also present for receiving control and voltage signals. The pilot circuit then sends a pilot circuit to each of the switches. The pilot signal corresponds to an on-command when the control signal corresponds to an on-signal and when the voltage between the power electrodes is very close to zero.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for highly efficient production of industrial gases by the cryogenic distillation of air, wherein a feed stream of compressed air, is supercharged to high pressure, cooled, and mixed with various recycle streams of supercharged air, to regulate the expander turbine operating temperature. The need for pre-cooling equipment downstream of the supercharger, which is widely employed in industry to manage the temperature of the incoming compressed air stream, is eliminated.

Abstract: A composition and method of preparation, to provide silane compounds that are free of chlorine. The compounds are hexakis(monohydrocarbylamino)disilanes with general formula (I) ((R)HN)3—Si—Si—(NH(R))3??(I) wherein each R independently represents a C1 to C4 hydrocarbyl. These disilanes may be synthesized by reacting hexachlorodisilane in organic solvent with at least 6-fold moles of the monohydrocarbylamine RNH2 (wherein R is a C1 to C4 hydrocarbyl). Such compounds have excellent film-forming characteristics at low temperatures. These films, particularly in the case of silicon nitride and silicon oxynitride, also have excellent handling characteristics.

Abstract: The treatment unit comprises N adsorption units, N being greater than or equal to 1, operating on a parametrized cycle split uniformly into at most N phase times. Further more, use is made of a control unit for controlling the treatment unit, designed to modify at least one parameter of the cycle. Each time there is a predicted change in the composition of the feed gas, the control unit is sent a pre-established signal representing this change. The processing unit then processes the signal to determine the parameters of an exceptional operating cycle of the treatment unit which cycle is suited to the predicted change.
