  • Patent number: 5709443
Abstract: A bottom drawer slide assembly with a guide rail is constructed as a profile rail to be secured to the carcase wall, a running rail is longitudinally movably mounted on the guide rail by means of rolling bodies retained in a cage. A hollow profile section whose cross-section is the same as the cross-section of the running rail, is pivotably connected to the inner end of the running rail. Cooperating guide means are provided on the guide rail, and the pivotable hollow profile section which hold the hollow profile section in the first position during movement of the running rail on the guide rail from the open position of the drawer in alignment with the running rail over the major portion of the inward movement, but pivot it increasingly into the second position parallel to the rear wall of the drawer when its inner end approaches the rear wall of the carcase.

  • Patent number: 5700038
Abstract: A connector assembly is provided for connecting two pipes of dissimilar material. In particular, an assembly is provided for connecting a first end portion of a first pipe to a second end portion of a second pipe formed as a bell housing having a larger inside diameter than an outside diameter of the first end portion and which second end portion overlaps the first end portion. The connector assembly includes a mandrill for attachment to the first end portion, which is formed as a flange extending radially from an outside circumference of the first end portion to face at least a portion of an end face of the bell housing, and an axial tubular extension extending from the flange so as to, upon assembly, reach a point approximately equal to an axial end point of the first pipe, and reside within the second end portion creating an annular space therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5695692
Abstract: Described is an air freshener unit comprising a container, a disc-shaped cartridge of air freshening material rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis within the container, and a discharge outlet in the wall of the container to allow the air freshening vapor to be dispensed. The container has baffle means adapted to allow a faster rate of evaporation of the air freshening material in one part of the cartridge relative to the remainder of the cartridge. The quicker rate of evaporation of the offset part causes the center of gravity to self-rotate within the container. The disc-shaped cartridge comprises a holder having a hub portion for rotatably mounting the cartridge in the container and holding means for supporting air freshening material in block form uniformly around the hub portion. The hub portion has oppositely directed stub shafts for location in apertures in opposed walls of the container, the apertures allowing the cartridge to rotate.

  • Patent number: 5695065
Abstract: The invention provides a bag dispenser comprising a container having a back plate intended to be attached to a vertical surface, and a cover which can be opened for loading the container with a plurality of bags and which has an opening through which the bags can be dispensed one after the other. A dividing member is provided within the container around which dividing member the bags can be folded, and the cover is hinged to the bottom of the back plate during loading of the container, whereby the bags become folded around the dividing member by the cover as the cover is closed. The invention also provides a method of dispensing bags one after the other from the container, the bags being loaded into the container so that they hang substantially vertically of the back plate, and folded around the dividing member by the step of closing the cover.

  • Patent number: 5677740
Abstract: A video receiver including an interface to which compressed and encoded video-audio data is supplied from a transmission line and stored in the receiver, a decoder for decoding the video-audio data retrieved from storage, a monitor for connecting to the decoder and a CPU for controlling data processing. A common buffer memory for temporarily storing the video-audio data is provided between the interface and the decoder and between the interface and the storage device and, while the video-audio data is being received, access to the buffer memory is subjected to time-shared, exclusive control by the CPU in synchronism with the clock frequency of the transmission line, whereby video data is read out of the buffer memory by the decoder in parallel with the storage of the video-audio data, and is thereby decoded so that a picture is viewed on the monitor.

  • Patent number: 5676487
Abstract: Connecting hardware for furniture parts, particularly of panel-shaped components of easily disassembled furniture. The connecting hardware includes a bolt which protrudes from one furniture part and can be introduced into a recess in the second furniture part. The bolt is held in a connecting position by a tensioning element provided in the recess and which engages the free end of the bolt, the bolt being held in a fastening bushing inserted in the first furniture part. The end section of the bolt is offset eccentrically to the center axis of the bolt and is disposed rotatably in an associated accommodating opening of the fastening bushing. The accommodating opening for holding the end section in turn is offset by the same amount eccentrically to the external diameter of the fastening bushing. The eccentricity of the end section and of the associated accommodating opening is selected so that the accommodating opening extends to the outside with formation of a slot-like opening in the fastening bushing.

  • Patent number: 5671989
Abstract: An arrangement for holding the bottom panel (12), which forms the bottom of a drawer, at the assigned side walls (14) of the drawer, for which the lateral edge regions of the bottom panel are in each case held seated on a supporting flange (26) protruding horizontally from the lower edge region of the side walls. In the rear end region of the side walls (14) of the drawer in the interior of the carcass, in each case an extended projection (28) protrudes upwards essentially at right angles from the supporting flange (26). An extended, groove-like recess (30), which is shaped essentially complementarily in cross section to the projection and the longitudinal extent of which is greater than the longitudinal extent of the projection, is provided in the underside of the bottom panel opposite to the projection.

  • Patent number: 5673193
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for processing a mailing consisting of a plurality of identical printed items to be grouped into bundles having an identical general address. Information as to bulk mailing centers (BMC) is accessed, which information provides an associated BMC for each group of zip codes, based generally on geographical proximity to a certain BMC. Information as to postal zones and rates to a particular zip code from the BMCs is also accessed, so that postal rates for each bundle can be calculated. Addressee information is provided to the system, including a general address having a zip code and particularized information for each addressee. The addresses should preferably be compatible with the particular bulk mailing procedures being used. Alternatively, the addresses can be screened for compatibility after being input into the system. The labeling, bundling and palletizing of the items are optimized for maximum efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5664855
Abstract: The present invention is a fitting for the adjustable-height mounting of drawers on the runner rails of drawer slides, which support them on the bottom. On the runner rail of each drawer slide a slider is provided with a bearing surface facing the drawer bottom, and can be shifted parallel to the runner rails by a given amount. The slides are inclined, however, such that the bearing surface of the slider will be substantially flush with the drawer bottom or even below the drawer bottom when the drawer is supported on the runner rail in the properly installed position. But in the other end position the slider is shifted upward by the amount desired for the adjustment.
