  • Patent number: 7285951
Abstract: A method and device for magnetic measurement of the position and orientation of a mobile object relative to a fixed structure. The device comprises, Integral with the structure, a magnetic fields emitter assembly having three orthogonal emission coils defining a reference frame and a sensor assembly, integral with the mobile object, having three channels for measuring the field received on three orthogonal detection coils, these channels each incorporating a feedback loop providing an output voltage and a measurement current. A calibration voltage, at frequencies differing from the useful frequencies of the fields, is injected into the channels of the sensor without disturbing the continuous measurement by measurement acquisition channels, while a calibration current is superimposed on the measurement resistors. It is thus possible to identify the variable components of the system and correct the measurements through the inverse of the respective transfer functions of the channels of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 7286443
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of allowing a computational load caused by the implementation of conventional signal processing methods operating by multicopy correlation, by simultaneous correlation of the spectrum of the received signal to copies of the signal, each of the copies having a different Doppler shift. The multicopy correlation operation is a time-frequency transformation of the received signal. Synthetic spectra are found by selection of spectral lines and concatenation, starting from the spectrum of the received signal. An inter-spectral product is computed, in other words by the product of each synthetic spectrum with the concatenated conjugate spectrum of the corresponding Doppler copy. A frequency-time transformation of the inter-spectral products is performed.

  • Patent number: 7277052
Abstract: A method to detect and/or locate a mobile craft in a reception system making use of transmitters of opportunity, whose signal comprises elements enabling the synchronization of the receiver, wherein certain discriminating sequences are detected of the payload signal. Each transmission present on the carrier frequencies examined by the receiver or receivers is separated by the space/time filtering of the signals in each carrier frequency. The transmitters Ei corresponding to the signals received are identified. The pulse response of the propagation channel for each transmitter Ei and for each detection made on this transmitter are determined by measuring the instant of arrival of the path reflected by the mobile craft is measured and then its delay relative to the instant of transmission from the transmitter. The position of the mobile craft is deduced at the intersection of the ellipsoids defined by the foci constituted by the transmitters Ei from which signals are received and the receiver or receivers Rj.
