  • Patent number: 8029657
Abstract: An AC electro-hydro-dynamic system for aggregating particles immersed in a fluid. The AC electro-hydro-dynamic system utilizes at least one set of parallel plate electrodes each having at least one conductive surface. The conductive surfaces may incorporate island conductive pads or strip conductive pads. The parallel plates may form a first set and a second set. A signal generator provides a time-varying signal across the first set of parallel plate electrodes and the second set of parallel plate electrodes.

  • Patent number: 7025439
Abstract: The invention provides a micro-fluid ejection head for a micro-fluid ejection device and a method for making a micro-fluid ejection head. The micro-fluid ejection head includes a semiconductor substrate containing fluid ejection devices electrically connected to contact pads on a surface thereof. A TAB circuit including lead beams is electrically connected to the contact pads on the semiconductor substrate surface. A nozzle plate structure is provided and installed relative to the TAB circuit so as to substantially cover the lead beams and contact pads in order to protect the lead beams and contact pads from exposure to fluid ejected by the micro-fluid ejection device. The micro-fluid ejection head is effective to reduce contact between electrical components and the fluid without the use of a separate encapsulant material.

  • Patent number: 6418696
Abstract: Architectural units having radiused wall corners are constructed with solid surfacing material (SSM) such as Corian. Cove moldings are formed from SSM sheet strips comprising an elongated cove form flanked by elongated rabbet channels. In a table jig, an SSM wall sheet edge is adhesively secured into one of the cove molding rabbet channels. The cove mold and wall sheet unit is secured to the desired architectural wall with the other cove molding rabbet channel mated to an SSM wall sheet edge respective to an adjacent architectural wall. Clamping blocks secured to respective wall sheet and cove mold surfaces by hot melt adhesive are drawn together along the correct vector to adhesively bond each wall sheet edge into a respective rabbet channel.

  • Patent number: 6152664
Abstract: A cargo restraining apparatus includes a cargo net, a plurality of buckles, and a plurality of anchor straps. The cargo net is formed of a plurality of intersecting woven webs and is preferably rectangular with two nonintersecting, free ends of webs at each corner. Each of the buckles include a C-bar to which two nonintersecting, free ends of the cargo net are attached. An anchor strap having an anchor end and a free end is fed through the buckle and used to apply tension to the two nonintersecting, free ends when the anchor end is connected to an anchor and the free end is pulled in a direction generally toward the anchor. Each buckle also includes a release tab for releasing tension applied to the two nonintersecting, free ends. Each buckle is preferable fabricated from a single piece of molded plastic with no moving parts. The apparatus is particularly well suited for use in securing cargo in the bed of a pick-up truck.

  • Patent number: 6145528
Abstract: A blind having a support system and a sheet material secured to at least a portion of the support system. The support system includes a number (n) of horizontal support members and a number (n+1) of vertical support members, wherein n corresponds to an integer of 2 or greater, and a plurality of flexible joints connecting each vertical support member to at least one of the horizontal support members, with at least one of the vertical support members connected by one of the joints to at least two of the horizontal support members.
