  • Patent number: 6447633
Abstract: A method for processing a semiconductor wafer or similar article includes the step of spinning the wafer and applying a fluid to a first side of the wafer, while it is spinning. The fluid flows radially outwardly in all directions, over the first side of the wafer, via centrifugal force. As the fluid flows off of the circumferential edge of the wafer, it is contained in an annular reservoir, so that the fluid also flows onto an outer annular area of the second side of the wafer. An opening allows fluid to flow out of the reservoir. The opening defines the location of a parting line beyond which the fluid will not travel on the second side of the wafer. An apparatus for processing a semiconductor wafer or similar article includes a reactor having a processing chamber formed by upper and lower rotors. The wafer is supported between the rotors. The rotors are rotated by a spin motor. A processing fluid is introduced onto the top or bottom surface of the wafer, or onto both surfaces, at a central location.

  • Patent number: 6446249
Abstract: A circuit for an emulation system that has a logic element having a RAM, lookup table, optional delay element and flip-flop/latch. The flip-flop/latch may behave as a flip-flop or as a latch and has separate set and reset signals. The delay element inserts a selectable amount of delay into the data path of the logic element in order to reduce race time problems. The logic elements may be combined to share input signals so as to increase the size of the RAM. The improved circuit also has a playback memory used to store up to a a plurality of copies of sampled data from a logic element so that emulation data can be played back for debugging purposes. Multiple read ports coupled to the logic elements permit a user to read out data from the logic elements during emulation in a time multiplexed manner. The input/output pins may be time multiplexed to carry multiple signals, unidirectionally or bidirectionally.

  • Patent number: 6439720
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring optical aberrations of the human eye wherein the person positions his or her eye on an optical axis of the apparatus and looks at an illuminated target on the optical axis that is visible to the eye for allowing the eye to focus on the target and establish a position of the eye. A collimating lens on the optical axis is movable along the optical axis for adjusting the apparent optical distance between the eye and the target. A light source directs a predetermined light beam along the optical axis into the eye and onto the retina of the eye as a spot of light. A lens reimages the light scattered from the light spot on the eye retina into a wavefront curvature sensor that forms two oppositely defocused images on an image detector, and a computer processes and analyzes the two defocused images for measuring the optical aberrations of the eye.

  • Patent number: 6439824
Abstract: A process system for processing semiconductor wafers includes a stocker module, and immersion module, and a process module. A process robot moves on a lateral rail to transfer wavers between the modules. The immersion module is separated from the other modules, to avoid transmission of vibration. Immersion tanks are radially positioned within the immersion module, to provide a compact design. An immersion robot moves batches of wafers on an end effector between the immersion tanks. The end effector may be detachable from the immersion robot, so that the immersion robot can move a second batch of wafers, while the first batch of wafers undergoes an immersion process.

  • Patent number: 6442739
Abstract: A computer-implemented method abstracts the timing constraints for latches internal to a digital logic circuit, resulting in a clock characterization model. Timing information (such as propagation delays, set-up and hold requirements) for latches and combinational logic circuits contained in a digital logic circuit are received, as is a description of a class of clock scheme for clocking the circuit. Clock parameters are selected for the clock scheme class. The internal timing constraints for the digital logic circuit are expressed as timing constraint expressions which are a function of the clock parameters. The expressions are combined to define a region of feasible clock operation expressed in terms of the clock parameters.

  • Patent number: 6435845
Abstract: An air driven double diaphragm pump has two opposed pumping cavities with diaphragms extending thereacross. A shaft extends between the diaphragms and through an actuator housing. The housing includes a control valve assembly having a control valve to direct pressurized air to one or the other of the dual pumping cavities and two relief valves which cooperate with the pump shaft position to release air from one end or the other of the control valve for the shifting thereof. Shuttle valve elements are positioned between the control valve and the pumping chambers. The shuttle valve elements are slidably positioned within the valve cavities to move between extreme positions under the pressures within the input and the pumping cavity.
