  • Patent number: 5638991
Abstract: A bottled water dispenser is similar in size to those available on the market today. An upright five gallon bottle slides onto a dolly and is held fast to the dolly by a stretch cord. The dolly with bottle is wheeled into the bottom of the dispenser. Alternately, the dispensing system may be assembled upon the dolly itself. A tube with a rubber stopper at one end and a check valve at the other end is inserted into the bottle. Pushing a button on the face plate of the dispenser cabinet activates an internal electric pump. The pump draws water from the bottle through the check valve and forces it out of the spigot under pressure. Internal solenoid valves force the water through a heating unit, cooling unit or filtration system before exiting through the spigot. Each temperature is achieved by pushing a different colored button on the face plate. The dispenser operates on 240 V AC, 120 V AC or 12 V DC. It has a built in auxiliary battery back up in the event of power outages or for portable use.

  • Patent number: 5450671
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for trimming and thinning hair through the maximum utilization of the slicing capacity of a straight razor. By employing a triangular, dualistic blade and comb configuration, the device channels and cuts the hair with an oblique, slicing motion without pulling or resisting the hair in any way. The device is comprised of a triangular body unit with two side walls, each extending the length of one of the longer body edges and raised vertically from the body. These walls form closed housing, each of which shelters a razor blade. In from of each razor is a series of combs which channel the hair evenly into the blades. The triangular shape of the device acts as a further channeling means, bringing hair into the wide end, through the combs to the blade edges and then out the narrow back end.

  • Patent number: 5448456
Abstract: A combination brake light and radio antenna is disclosed. An elongated support structure includes a base for mounting to an automobile. At least one side wall of the device is made of a transparent or translucent material, such that lamps arranged in a linear array from the base to a top portion of the structure are visible from outside of the structure when the lamps are illuminated. A lamp driving circuit includes a power source and a switch for closing the circuit in response to a brake pedal of the automobile being depressed. The lamp driving circuit may illuminate the lamps in sequence, such as from bottom to top, for example, when the brake pedal is depressed. Further, the lamp driving circuit may illuminate the lamps at a brightness that is proportional to the pressure that is applied to the brake pedal, such that a relatively high application of pressure to the brake pedal results in the lamps being relatively brightly illuminated.

  • Patent number: 5446995
Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable modular drainage system that is attached to a series of cylindrical planting containers. The system comprises a plurality of peaked modules with opposing, convergent curved side walls designed to conform to the curve of a planting container. Between each side wall is a notch which accepts one or more containers and firmly connects the module to the containers. The modules are preferably designed in four distinct shapes, one with quadrature symmetry for connecting four containers at once, one smaller triangular unit which connects three staggered containers, one three-legged unit that connects two containers which are positioned at an edge of a plant farm, and one edge unit designed to connect three staggered containers at the end of three rows. When these modules are appropriately connected to the containers, they effectively drain the water that would otherwise have fallen between the pots directly into the pots.

  • Patent number: 5445594
Abstract: An implant device is disclosed for expanding the girth and length of a penis. A soft, flexible body is implanted between the shaft and the skin of the penis. The body takes the shape of a partial cylindrical sleeve that has an outer, relatively elastic sheet member and an inner, relatively inelastic sheet member. When implanted, the body covers the corpus cavernosum of the penis and does not or only partially covers the urethra, and extends in length between the glans penis and the base of the penis. A principally closed sack is formed between the inner and outer sheet members for receiving a fluid under pressure from a fluid source. Spring-like ribs are embedded within the inner sheet member for preventing collapse of the inner sheet member when the body is deflated.
