  • Patent number: 4013236
Abstract: A continuously wound strip of toweling, either solid wound or wound about a hollow central core, forms the roll with radial end surfaces. A pair of diametrically aligned, axial pin openings are formed in one of the roll end surfaces equally radially spaced from the central longitudinal axis with radially inner extremities radially outwardly of any roll core. If the roll is solid wound, a central axial opening is formed in the other roll end surface preferably semi-spherical in shape or if the roll is hollow core wound, the core forms the central axial opening at the other roll end surface. In either case, with dispenser pin support and central support at the opposite roll ends, dispensing unwinding of the strip of toweling to the pin hole radially inner extremities releases the roll for endwise pivoting about the other roll end automatically dismounting the same.

  • Patent number: 4002521
Abstract: A valve seat of an integrated valve seat and closure member assembly is secured by waterproof sealant over the upper end of a flush valve seat portion in a flush tank, the waterproof sealant preferably constituting the sole support for the integrated assembly in the flush tank. The closure member is hingedly connected to the valve seat through a rigid frame which is partially removably telescoped by a resilient material closure portion thereby mounting the closure portion of the closure member hingedly movable downwardly toward and upwardly away from a sealing position with the valve seat. An outwardly depending C-shaped leg on the closure portion of the closure member which inwardly telescopes the closure member frame provides a lower, relatively flat, sealing surface for sealing downwardly against the valve seat in the closure member sealing position.

  • Patent number: 3989405
Abstract: A tool spindle is rotatably driven by a drive motor with the spindle being mounted axially movable in a feed and retraction stroke. The drive motor also rotates a lead screw through a drive train with the lead screw moving the spindle in the feed stroke upon engagement of nuts therewith and permitting spring retraction of the spindle in the retraction stroke when the nuts are disengaged therefrom. A clutch in the drive train transmits a normal rotational force therethrough to the lead screw during a normal tool feed stroke, but disengages and interrupts normal rotational forces therethrough upon an abnormal resistance to the normal tool feed stroke reacting reversely through the lead screw to the clutch. Such abnormal resistance to the tool feed stroke could result from a selectively preset stop or an unforeseen obstruction or a tool dulled beyond proper use.

  • Patent number: 3988709
Abstract: A thermistor sandwich assembly connectable for controlling motor starting windings is enclosed in a relatively thin and conforming case. The sandwich assembly includes a contact plate abutting the case lower wall with plate integral spring fingers against a face of a wafer-like thermistor, another contact plate overlying and having downward projections against the other thermistor face as well as abutting the upper case wall. A plurality of holes in the lower case wall and a bus bar slot through the upper case wall permit air circulation through the case and between the contact plates and thermistor faces for cooling the thermistor, the relay being otherwise free of cooling plates. A bus bar is rigidly connected extending partially through the case bus bar slot in electrical connection with the thermistor sandwich assembly normally transmitting electrical energy to a contact plate but selectively severable or removable to permit addition of capacitance in the electrical circuit.

  • Patent number: 3973584
Abstract: Upper and lower blocks with registering grooves are assembled about a pipeline with an upper block piercing needle moved downwardly piercing the pipeline. The piercing needle is then moved upwardly providing communication through the pipeline pierced hole and into a transfer passageway of the upper block. A resilient O-ring is positioned within an annular chamber spaced outwardly of a lower portion of the piercing needle compressed upwardly against the upper block and downwardly against the pipeline to seal the upper block groove from the pipeline pierced hole. The lower block groove is formed semi-circular in transverse cross section and the upper block groove is formed semi-elliptical in transverse cross section with the pipeline being deformed totally conforming to the block grooves when the blocks are brought into assembled abutment.

  • Patent number: 3945671
Abstract: A preferably cylindrical body has a closed bottom bolt opening with an internal spring pressed plunger constantly urged at an angle less than 90.degree. to the bolt opening into interference partially within the bolt opening and retained against such movement by a selectively movable plug within the bolt opening. A bolt preferably having an enlarged head has a recess at an opposite end portion formed generally transversely therein. The bolt end portion is inserted into the body bolt opening displacing the plug further inwardly into the bolt opening and ultimately aligning the bolt end portion recess with the body plunger causing positive interengagement therebetween and permanently preventing withdrawal of the bolt from the body. An annular shoulder of the bolt may engage a body surface at the outer end of the bolt opening during such interengagement to permanently block off the body bolt opening.

  • Patent number: 3935802
Abstract: A supply web of relatively smooth paper toweling is mounted on a dispenser and is directed between rotatable dispensing rolls which have interengaging generally triangular teeth. The dispensing rolls are resiliently urged together with the paper toweling web therebetween and during roll rotation, the teeth compressively abut and foldably deform the relatively smooth paper web into a crimped paper web without appreciable permanent thickness deformation. During the crimping of the paper web by the dispensing rolls and without regard to roll rotation, the paper web is at all times securely retained by the rolls so that after the dispensing of a desired length of the crimped paper web, the web may be cut along a dispenser cutting bar during such roll retention.

  • Patent number: 3931738
Abstract: Pressurized operating fluid, such as oil for hydrostatic fluid bearings, is directed into a chamber against a plunger urging the plunger into a first position. A monitoring pressure force slightly less than the force of the operating fluid when the operating fluid is at a minimum working pressure is exerted against the plunger tending to move the plunger from this first to a second position. Thus, when the pressure of the operating fluid drops below the minimum working pressure, the plunger is moved to its second position and such movement is sensed, thereby sensing the malfunction.
