  • Patent number: 8267414
Abstract: A suspension assembly structured to facilitate a selective variance in a height of a vehicle including at least one suspension arm having a suspension joint structured to vary the height of the vehicle dependent on the operative orientation of the suspension arm and suspension joint when connected to the vehicle. The suspension joint includes two bushing members each formed of a resilient material and two retaining assemblies, wherein each retaining assembly is disposed in retaining relation to a different one of the two bushing members on opposite sides of one end of the suspension arm. Either each of the bushing members or each of the two retaining assemblies includes a first section and a second section being of different, predetermined thicknesses. While the suspension arm and suspension joint may be produced as equipment of original manufacture, a conventional suspension arm may be repaired or retrofit by replacing its original suspension joint with a modified suspension joint.

  • Patent number: 8261750
Abstract: A method for treating patella subluxation includes positioning the patient for examination of an affected knee joint. It is then determined if there is subluxation of the patella, which may occur by palpation. If subluxation is found, an affected fibrous tissue adjacent to the patella is located. This may occur through implementing imaging technology, such as live imaging where a temporally changing image of the internal components of the knee may be viewed, static imaging where a temporally fixed image of the internal components of the knee is captured, or through palpation by a practiced medical professional. An effective amount of a neurotoxin is then introduced into the affected fibrous tissue, such as through injection. The method also may include an additional step of manipulating the patella into the patellofemoral groove, which may occur manually. Thereafter, various diagnostics and exercises are implemented to monitor and rehabilitate the affected area.

  • Patent number: 8261575
Abstract: A self cooling motor system includes an internally cooled motor assembly operationally interconnected to a heat transfer assembly. The internally cooled motor assembly includes a winding assembly having one or more winding, each winding constructed of an electrically conductive material and having a fluid passage extending lengthwise therethrough. A fluid heat transfer media flows through the winding(s) while the internally cooled motor assembly is in operation, and the fluid heat transfer media is structured to remove a predetermined amount of heat from the winding(s) of the motor assembly. The fluid heat transfer media is transferred to the heat transfer assembly, where heat is dissipated from the fluid heat transfer media, reducing its temperature to a preselected exit temperature, prior to reintroduction into the winding(s) of the internally cooled motor assembly.

  • Patent number: 8242910
Abstract: A security tag assembly and security system associated therewith to prevent the unauthorized removal of merchandise from a given area, such as a retail establishment. The security tag assembly comprises a base and at least one attachment member removably connected in an operative position on the merchandise being protected. A locking assembly including a locking member is structured to restrict detachment of the attachment member and is forcibly disposed out of movement restricting relation to said connector member when the base and the attachment member are separated. A detachment assembly and a data registering processor may include a two-way communication link which facilitates processing of the merchandise data disposed on the security tag assembly, such that the purchasing of the merchandise and the removal of the security tag assembly can be effectively accomplished without jeopardizing the security of the merchandise being sold.

  • Patent number: 8243973
Abstract: A frame assembly worn to maintain at least one transparent eye panel in front of a wearer's eyes. A processor receives an incoming audio signal and wirelessly transmits it to an earpiece which audibly communicates the incoming signal to the wearer. An outbound microphone assembly picks up an outbound audio signal from the wearer and transmits it to the processor which transmits it to a remote recipient. An ambient microphone assembly picks up an ambient audio signal and transmits it to the processor. The processor is structured to enhance the incoming and/or the outbound audio signal based on the ambient audio signal. The processor transmits a voice component of the ambient audio signal to the earpiece. A camera assembly picks up an outbound visual signal and transmits it to the processor which further transmits it to a remote recipient. A display assembly displays an incoming visual signal.

  • Patent number: 8230965
Abstract: A device structured to assist the hearing of a user by being removably connected to and disposing a user's ear in an enhanced hearing orientation. One embodiment includes an elongated base, which may be disposable in an operative position behind the user's ear. Opposite ends of the base include an adhesive material secured to a common side thereof, wherein different ones of said opposite ends are respectively disposed and maintained in confronting engagement with a rear surface of the ear and adjacently disposed portion of the user's head. The base further includes biasing capabilities disposed and structured to exert a sufficient, forwardly and outwardly directed force on the user's ear to dispose and maintain it in the enhanced hearing orientation, when the base is in the operative position.

  • Patent number: 8226095
Abstract: A mobile platform such as, but not limited to, a skateboard type of structure capable of movably transporting an individual over a supporting surface. A wheel assembly connected to the platform includes at least one but more practically a plurality of wheels having a spherical configuration extending outwardly from opposite surfaces of the platform into engagement with the supporting surface so as to define at least two operative positions of the platform. A mounting assembly and each of a plurality of different embodiments of a bearing assembly are structured to facilitate a substantially universal, rotational movement of said wheel(s) relative to said platform. The different embodiments of the bearing assembly facilitate either a free or unrestricted universal rotational movement of the one wheel relative to the platform or alternatively a universal, rotational movement thereof concurrently about more defined rotational axes.

  • Patent number: 8229136
Abstract: The present invention provides for methods and systems for digitally processing audio signals by adjusting the gain of a signal a first time, using a digital processing device located between a radio head unit and a speaker. The methods and systems may filter the adjusted signal with a first low shelf filter, compress the filtered signal with a first compressor, process the signal with a graphic equalizer, compress the processed signal with a second compressor and adjust the gain of the compressed signal a second time. The methods and systems may also filter the signal received from the first low shelf filter with a first high shelf filter prior to compressing the filtered signal with the first compressor. The signal may be filtered with a second low shelf filter prior to processing the signal with the graphic equalizer. Some embodiments filter the signal with a second high shelf filter after the signal is filtered with the second low shelf filter.
