Abstract: An accessor function interfaces among a client, a relying party, and an identity provider. The identity provider can “manage” personal (i.e., self-asserted) information cards on behalf of a user, making the personal information cards available on clients on which the personal information cards are not installed. The client can be an untrusted client, vulnerable to attacks such as key logging, screen capture, and memory interrogation. The accessor function can also asked as a proxy for the relying party in terms of invoking and using the information cards system, for use with legacy relying parties.

Abstract: A voltage level translator circuit has a digital logic circuit having a digital logic signal, at least one high-voltage capacitor having a first and second connection, wherein one of the first and second connections is electrically coupled to the digital logic signal, and a cross-coupled inverter pair having, the output of at least one inverter of the pair electrically coupled to the other connection of the at least one high-voltage capacitor.
Abstract: A control system for a light-emitting device may include test circuitry, photodetectors, and process circuitry. The test circuitry is configured to sequentially drive individual groups of light-emitting elements in a light-emitting device during a test sequence. Each group of light-emitting elements includes one or more light-emitting elements. The photodetectors are configured to detect an intensity of light present at a plurality of locations of the light-emitting device during the test sequence and generate a detection signal corresponding to the detected intensity of light. The process circuitry is configured to process the detection signals and transmit an adjustment signal based on the processing. The light-emitting elements may then be driven such that at least one characteristic of light emitted by all of the plurality of light-emitting elements is substantially the same at each of the plurality of locations of the light-mixing region.
Abstract: A router includes a management module and a routing module. The routing module can be used to route data around a network. The management module can be used to manage the operation of the routing module, including generating an integrity report for the router, which can be used to generate a trust report for the router. The trust report can include an integrity/trust score for the router. The management module can control the routing module via a secure control interface.

Abstract: A biochip package allowing biochips optimized for high-volume production to be compatible with general-purpose devices and a biochip packaging substrate of the biochip package are provided. The biochip package can include a biochip having a probe array mounted thereon and a biochip packaging substrate on which the biochip is mounted and which has a through cavity exposing a rear surface of the biochip.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for determining a defibrillation treatment protocol in an external defibrillator using a measurement of elapsed time. The present invention provides a defibrillator with a timer function. Upon activation of the defibrillator, an internal timer begins to run. By closely associating the activation of the defibrillator with the onset of the patient's attack, and by making allowances for inherent time differences between these events, the timer provides a measure of the elapsed time between the onset of the patient's emergency and the presentation of the defibrillator at the patient's side. Using this measure of elapsed time, the defibrillator determines an appropriate treatment therapy, such as CPR or defibrillation therapy.

Abstract: The presence of a cardiac pulse in a patient is determined by evaluating physiological signals in the patient. In one embodiment, a medical device evaluates optical characteristics of light transmitted into a patient to ascertain physiological signals, such as pulsatile changes in general blood volume proximate a light detector module. Using these features, the medical device determines whether a cardiac pulse is present in the patient. The medical device may also be configured to report whether the patient is in a VF, VT, asystole, or PEA condition, in addition to being in a pulseless condition, and prompt different therapies, such as chest compressions, rescue breathing, defibrillation, and PEA-specific electrotherapy, depending on the analysis of the physiological signals. Auto-capture of a cardiac pulse using pacing stimuli is further provided.

Abstract: A printing device has an image receptor adapted to have an image formed thereon. The printing device also includes a transfer roller and a motor. A transfer roller load mechanism moves the transfer roller into contact with the image receptor in response to the motor output. A controller manipulates the motor in conjunction with a feedback signal from a load detector and regulates the load of the transfer roller.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for distributed dynamic security of a document. Portions of a document are associated with a plurality of member definitions. Each member definition contains an access right associated with a user. An access controller receives a request from a user and determines whether that user has sufficient access rights to access a portion of the document.

Abstract: Web traffic reporting methods that rely upon third-party cookies suffer in accuracy when those tracking cookies are frequently refused by web users or deleted once they have been accepted. The invention described herein circumvents this problem by employing first-party cookies instead. This is accomplished by a client-side script that maintains the first-party cookie (as placed by the web site in question) and sends a site-maintained visitor ID to a tracking service for analysis. The effect is to improve the accuracy of traffic statistics that rely on that cookie.
Abstract: A directed set can be used to establish contexts for linguistic concepts: for example, to aid in answering a question, to refine a query, or even to determine what questions can be answered given certain knowledge. A directed set includes a plurality of elements and chains relating the concepts. One concept is identified as a maximal element. The chains connect the maximal element to each concept in the directed set, and more than one chain can connect the maximal element to any individual concept either directly or through one or more intermediate concepts. A subset of the chains is selected to form a basis for the directed set. Each concept in the directed set is measured to determine how concretely each chain in the basis represents it. These measurements for a single concept form a vector in Euclidean k-space. Distances between these vectors can be used to determine how closely related pairs of concepts are in the directed set.
