Abstract: An adapter for an outdoor light is disclosed. The adapter includes a hollow elongated element having a top end and a bottom end and a first opening at the top end of the elongated element, wherein the first opening accepts a shaft of the outdoor light to create a friction fit with the shaft. The adapter further includes a second opening at the bottom end of the elongated element, wherein the second opening includes a tapered interior brim and a plug located at substantially a midpoint of an interior of the elongated element, wherein the plug comprises substantially a disk that contacts an interior surface of the elongated element. The adapter further includes a fastener that extends lengthwise along a centerline of the elongated element, wherein the fastener is coupled at one end to a midpoint of the plug and wherein the fastener protrudes from the second opening of the elongated element.

Abstract: A method for legal knowledge modeling and automated legal evaluation, such as for online, questionnaire-based legal analysis, is provided. Information, such as facts and characteristics of a legal situation or legal scenario, as it relates to a legal conclusion or a legal result, in addition to the probabilities of such conclusions or results, are modeled in a Bayesian Network. The Bayesian Network may comprise instantiable nodes, fault nodes, intermediary nodes, a utility node and decision nodes. The Bayesian network is automatically updated on a periodic basis to reflect new legislation or court decisions. Using Bayesian inference, the conditional probability of a legal conclusion based on a user's answers to a questionnaire may be determined. These conditional probabilities are modified upon the input of evidence, which is typically in the form of answers to a dynamic set of questions designed to identify a legal conclusion or a legal result.

Abstract: An apparatus for stiffening the folded collar of a dress or collared shirt is provided. A collared shirt includes a placket and a folded collar including an interior fold. The apparatus includes a circular, semi-rigid element for surrounding the interior fold of the folded collar, wherein the semi-rigid element is coextensive with the folded collar and includes a gap located at a placket of the shirt. The apparatus further includes a first elongated element that projects downwards at an acute angle from a left side of the semi-rigid element such that a tip of the first elongated element contacts a left shoulder of the shirt. The apparatus further includes a second elongated element that projects downwards at an acute angle from a right side of the semi-rigid element such that a tip of the second elongated element contacts a right shoulder of the shirt, wherein the semi-rigid element and the first and second elongated elements are integrally formed of a single piece of material.

Abstract: Table, screwed on the floor by a sliding helix telescopic base itself screwed to the table-top in eccentric position, characterized by raising phase, lowering phase and simultaneously twisting of 180 degrees that allows the table-top to reduce the distance from seating during the raising phase and increment the distance during the lowering phase. Table is characterized by the presence of two elements that work at same time: the base and the table-top. The base is composed by two concentric Cylinders, “A Cylinder” and “B Cylinder”. The first Cylinder is screwed on the floor bolts using own flange interface while the “B Cylinder”, screwed on the table-top in eccentric position by bolts using own top flange interface. The table-top is the deck able to support different seating configurations(dining-table and couch-table).

Abstract: A linear lighting apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes an elongated element having a substantially U-shaped cross-section and an LED strip placed longitudinally along a bottom of the elongated element. The apparatus further includes a first flange located on both sides of an exterior of the elongated element and a second flange located on both sides of the exterior of the elongated element. The apparatus further includes a gutter located on both sides of an interior of the elongated element and a first optical element comprising an elongated planar element composed of optical material. The apparatus further includes a rim located on a top of both sides of the elongated element and a second optical element comprising an elongated planar element for placement on top of the horizontal surface of the rim.

Abstract: A surgical staple remover includes a first elongated element having a handle on one end and an upward sloped jaw element on the other end, wherein the jaw element comprises a pair of parallel jaws; a housing running a length of the first elongated element; an interior element within the housing comprising a planar element having a hook element; a second elongated element pivotally connected to the first elongated element and the interior element, such that moving the second elongated element results in moving the hook element and the jaw element while retracting the interior element, resulting in the hook element deforming the surgical staple so as to remove it and moving the surgical staple towards the housing; and a strip element located on top of the jaw element, such that when the hook element moves the removed surgical staple, the removed surgical staple is moved under the strip element.

Abstract: A cooling system for an electric motor of an electric motorcycle is disclosed. The cooling system includes a motorcycle frame including an internal volume, an entrance orifice and an exit orifice. The cooling system further includes an electric motor including an internal volume, a first tubular element connecting the exit orifice with the electric motor and a second tubular element connecting the electric motor with the entrance orifice. The cooling system further includes a liquid coolant located within the internal volume of the frame, the internal volume of the first and second tubular elements and the internal volume of the electric motor. The cooling system further includes a pump for circulating the liquid coolant from the electric motor, through the second tubular element, through the entrance orifice of the frame, through the internal volume of the frame, through the exit orifice of the frame and back to the electric motor.

Abstract: A surgical staple remover apparatus is disclosed. The surgical staple remover apparatus comprises a first elongated element having a handle on one end and a downward facing protrusion on the other end and a second elongated element having a handle on one end and an upwards sloped planar element on the other end, wherein the first and second elongated elements are pivotally connected. The apparatus further includes a cutout located at a midpoint of a tip of the upwards sloped planar element and a housing running a length of the second elongated element, beginning at the upwards sloped planar element and including an opening facing the planar element, such that surgical staples removed with the apparatus are drawn into the housing. The apparatus further includes a spring loaded element within the housing, wherein the spring loaded element grabs removed surgical staples and draws them into the housing.

Abstract: A tray and slip sheet system for transporting aggregated bales of rubber that provides a manner for thawing rubber being transported, that prevents large rubber bales being transported from fusing together, and that does not damage or contaminate the packaged rubber when a forklift's forks are inserted between two stacked aggregated bales using the tray and slip sheet system. The tray and slip sheet system uses a tray sheet, a slip (when transporting more than one stacked aggregated bale of rubber), and a strap securing system. The tray and slip sheet system provides a system that defines an air recirculation system that allows the first two levels of bales of rubber stacked over the footprint to be defrosted in hot air chambers after winter transport. Systems not having ventilation slits do not allow the first two levels of bales being transported from being completely defrosted.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for accumulating credits from a customer account belonging to the customer and managed by an institution and placing the credits into a provider account. The system includes an information processor including a data store with data identifying the customer, the rounding determinant, the managed institution, and the account. The data store includes data authorizing the processor to access and read the customer account and further includes data to calculate rounders after receiving a plurality of payment transactions from the read customer account and to calculate an excess based on the rounders. The data store also includes data to withdraw the excess from the customer account and data to transfer the withdrawn excess to the provider account.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an intermodal cargo container includes a lid section having a rectangular box with an open bottom portion. A floor unit has a channel portion arranged around a periphery, and the channel portion receives a bottom edge of the lid section. Locking mechanisms are arranged along an edge of the lid section to couple the lid section to plural rungs that extend across the channel portion. The sliding lock mechanism includes engagement tabs that engage associated rungs extending between two walls of the channel portion. A sealing portion is provided within the channel so as to provide a fluid-tight seal when the lid section is coupled to the floor unit. A powered actuator can assist in moving the lock mechanism. A spring assembly at a corner of the floor unit provides a spring tension to the sliding lock mechanism.

Abstract: A method on a computer for providing critical chain-based project management is disclosed. The method includes generating a list of sequential time periods for a project comprising a plurality of tasks and calculating a number of tasks for each time period. The method further includes generating a graphic that visually indicates the number of tasks for each time period and a priority of each task and providing the graphic to a user.

Abstract: An apparatus for covering an exterior opening in a roof is disclosed. The apparatus includes a hollow conical element defining an inner volume, the conical element having a first opening on a wide end and a second opening on a narrow end. The apparatus further includes a planar element surrounding an outer brim of the first opening, wherein the planar element accepts a fastener for fastening the apparatus to the roof. The apparatus further includes at least one louver covering the second opening and at least one screen located within the inner volume of the conical element, wherein the at least one screen is fastened to an inner surface of the conical element.
