  • Patent number: 6299172
Abstract: An indoor/outdoor game in which toy pieces are thrown to a target. The toy pieces and target are covered with hook and loop material so that contact of the toy piece and target results in adherence of the toy piece and target. Boundary and point marker pieces are also provided. A high degree of creativity is allowed the player as they can determine target zones, point values of those zones, and target shapes. The target can be collapsed and provided with handles and zipper to form a carrier for the toy pieces and prevent separation of the toy pieces from the game during transportation or storage.

  • Patent number: 6260252
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for assembling and disassembling an installation present on a seabed, for instance a pipeline lying on a seabed, wherein components, for instance pipe flanges, are mutually attached by means of nut and bolt connections and the nut and bolt connections are released and/or secured by means of a wrench. Nut and bolt connections are herein released by divers using a wrench. This is heavy and difficult work. It is impossible for divers to operate at considerable depth. Complicated and very costly pipeline connections are then applied which can be released and secured without divers. The invention has for its object to reduce the stated drawbacks of the known method. To this end at least one wrench is used, of which an engagement cup for engaging a nut and/or a bolt head in axial direction of a nut and bolt connection for manipulating is displaceable relative to a cup carrier counter to spring action.

  • Patent number: 5927900
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for arranging at least one duct in a ground. The method is distinguished by above ground assembly of the duct; bringing the ground into plastic state; and forcing the duct into the ground. The ground is subjected to vibration in order to effect the transition to the plastic state thereof. The method is also distinguished by placing piles and fixing the duct to the piles prior to bringing the ground into the plastic state; and by subsequently forcing the piles with the duct fixed thereto into the ground. The present invention further relates to a system of ducts in a ground which comprises at least one type of duct, wherein piles fixed to the ducts are arranged in the ground.

  • Patent number: 5829919
Abstract: A method for removing a superstructure from a jacket placed on a sea-bottom, wherein a vessel is positioned in the vicinity of the jacket. In this operation, the problem of the superstructure colliding with the jacket during lifting thereof due to up and down movement caused by the vessel floating on the waves is real and present. The superstructure and/or the jacket can sustain damage. To avoid such damage, the superstructure is engaged by lift supports which are movable relative to the vessel. Once the movement of the vessel in the waves is detected, lifting of the superstructure from the jacket is started when it is detected that the vessel is situated below it's average depth level in the sea.

  • Patent number: 5823712
Abstract: A method for laying a pipeline on a surface located under water such as a deep sea bed. The pipeline is held fixedly by tensioners having tensioning elements each extending between a clamping member engaging on the pipeline and a support member connected to a vessel. Tensioning is accomplished by sets of endless clamping bands which apply a braking action to the pipeline. A set of clamping jaws is clamped fixedly to the pipeline and moves along with the pipeline from a starting position to a releasing position. As a set of clamping jaws is clamped to the pipeline, another set of clamping jaws is released from the pipeline and returned to a starting position to continually repeat the cycle of holding and releasing of the pipeline.

  • Patent number: 5787631
Abstract: A laser sighting apparatus for firearms having a laser module disposed in a cartridge-shaped housing with the same bore as the firearm. The laser module is adjustable so as to consistently produce a red dot on a target from a laser beam running through the bore of the firearm. The crosshairs of a conventional scope mounted on the firearm can be aligned with the red dot, and the laser module and housing removed from the firearm. A live round of ammunition, when discharged from the firearm, will now strike a target exactly at the point defined by the intersection of the crosshairs of the firearm's scope. A safety spring is provided which prevents destruction of the aperture if the firearm is accidently discharged with the laser module and housing still in the bore of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 5788930
Abstract: Apparatus for safely deodorizing and purifying an enclosure such as a building structure or vehicle using an ozone generator thereby minimizing the risk of biological exposure and pollutants which trigger environmental illness or allergic reactions. The ozone generator is controlled with an electronic logic circuitry and sensors which automatically regulates ozone exposures to peak at an antiseptic level thereby preventing inadvertent oxidation damage due to over exposure. One embodiment of the apparatus uses an ozone decomposing material to eliminate the harmful residual ozone concentration within the enclosure which is present immediately after an effective ozone treatment. Another embodiment allows for control of the apparatus from outside the enclosure being purified, allowing the operator to alter the outcome of the treatment.
