Abstract: Redispersible polymer powders made by core-shell polymers having an alkali-soluble emulsion polymer shell and an aqueous-insoluble emulsion polymer core wherein the core and the shell polymers are chemically grafted by utilizing a polyfunctional compound. The core-shell polymers are produced by a two-stage sequential emulsion polymerization process in which an alkali-insoluble emulsion polymer core is polymerized in the presence of an alkali-solubilized emulsion polymer. When the core-shell polymer powders of this invention are employed as a cement modifier, improvements in the powder physical properties and cement mortar properties are realized.

Abstract: This invention relates to an aqueous correcting fluid, the use of which prevents bleeding of aqueous ink dyes during correction of writing errors or erasure of documents using white out. Abstract: An aqueous aerosol coating composition comprising a blend of neutralized acrylic dispersible polymer having a relatively high Tg, high acid number and low molecular weight, with a drying oil-modified, low molecular weight copolymer in a water-based carrier and propellant system which comprises dimethyl ether, water and a water-soluble organic solvent. Abstract: Stable, aqueous emulsion copolymers with controllable siloxane crosslinking functionality are provided. These copolymers are prepared by a concurrent free radical and cationic initiated emulsion polymerization of at least one free radical initiatable monomer at least one linear siloxane precursor monomer, and at least one bifunctional silane monomer having both free radical polymerizable and silicon functional groups. The copolymers are useful in curable coatings, paints, caulks, adhesives, non-woven and ceramic compositions and as modifiers, processing aids and additives in thermoplastics, cements and asphalts.
Abstract: Alkali-resistant core-shell polymers having an acid-insoluble core and an acid-soluble shell are prepared by sequential emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture having acid-ionizable functionality such that the resulting polymer has an acid-insoluble core and an acid-soluble shell. Films from these alkali-resistant, core-shell polymers are resistant to high pH environments where alkali-resistance is required. The alkali-resistant, core-shell polymers are useful in applications such as inks, clear overprint varnishes, coatings, metal adhesion, fiber treatment, paper treatment, cathodic deposition coatings, stain blocking, coagulants and flocculants.
